After Gus's poll tradgedy it again got me thinking about the lack of depth in our squad. Now i know a lot of you (well some of you anyway) are happy with the squad as it stands but for those of you that are, like me, unhappy with the squad I ask the above question. Some of you will doubtless blame the board for not making cash available while others will feel that Arsene is not signing anybody cos he is comfortable with the squad he has. To be honest I'm not even sure which camp I am in but I do believe that the squad is not strong enough.
ps hope this poll hasn't been done before

I'm inclined to think it's down to Arsene. The club say the money is there, and Arsene hasn't contradicted them (at least not publicly) so I'm thinking the money is there!
I think the one thing 90% of us agree on is that the squad is not deep enough in quality. RVP is class but he picks up knocks and he has a dodgy temperament so he will miss part of the season.
Eddie Da Silva will possibly struggle to adjust to the pace and physical side of the PL (nearly every foreign player has that first season learning curve) so I'm not sure we can expect too much of him yet. Yabba (Adebayor) is not an out and out striker and will probably only get 10 goals in the PL.
We need a proven PL goal scorer in the squad. Michael Owen mightn't have been as bad an investment as we all thought
. I know he's got the dodgy hammies and the glass calf but looking at it objectively, we wouldn't need him to be fit for every game, he would have been useful to bring into the first team if RVP was out though.
Maybe...
I think it may come down to the same thing as last season; a couple of injuries to key first teamers and we are knackered. Which is a shame, because our first team are quality on their day. But as I think TS said, it's squads that win leagues.

Doesn't it tend to be great first season, bad second season with new players?
and Owen would be fit for those games? I doubt itknow he's got the dodgy hammies and the glass calf but looking at it objectively, we wouldn't need him to be fit for every game, he would have been useful to bring into the first team if RVP was out though.
