Look, I'm sorry if I am late on this one. BUT... am I the only Gooner who didn't realise where Paul Merson's true alleigances lie?

A mate said he heard him on the radio last night stating that he was a diehard Chelski fan and that he used to follow them home and away as a kid.

This may explain why he slates us everythime I see him on Sky Sports!!!

He was a Chelsea fan as a kid & his old man was Arsenal & when the Gunners offered him a place in the youth side he chose them for his old man

yeah , when he left the arse he said now he could go and watch chelsea,, sky always put him on when arsenal are playing and now he says we when chattin bout arsenal,, also writes in the gunners mag so not sure whould he supports now

I thought it was well known that Merse was a Chav!! He certainly didn't hide the fact, even when he was a player for Arsenal.

Don't think it has any particularly affect on the way he talks about us. However, perhaps Sky should have him as the Chelski analyst, just in case, and have more proper gooners - and I mean proper gooners, not David Pratt, Frank Stapleton and Niall Quinn! - on there representing us instead?

I say bring back Frank McLintock!!

hmmm .. didn't know merse is a chav ... now I understand why he is so keen to sledge the gooners when things are going bad, and eager to be a die-hard gooner when we are flying .... a bloody glory hunter !!!

Merson really does follow the crowd, i think he will be man u fan at start of season

hopefully us at end when we pick up the trophy

I always thought it was common knowledge . There was talk once he wanted to call one of his kids Chelsea if it was a girl.

He named his daughter Chelsea when he was stll a Gooner!!!!!!!
Anyone who saw him on Sky before the game at the Kremlin last season would have heard him say" Arsenal would be lucky to get away with a 4-0 defeat" thats why he is such a shit gambler
