- Worse Goalie in PL

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What's the deal with Frey??

He seems to get mentioned as "the answer" so many times...

The guy is 28, and has played for Cannes, then Inter.. who thought he was so good, they then loaned him to Verona, then sold him to Parma.

Parma then thought so much of him that they loaned him to Fiorentina, and now he plays for them.

And in his illustrious career, he's managed 2 French Caps (according to Wiki), despite the fact that over recent years, French goalies have hardly been top top class!
- Barthez was ok, but half the time, Frey wasn't even in the squad of 3 French goalkeepers! :?

Was he good on Championship Manager or something???

i cant believe he gave away that free kick

that was school kid form - could have cost us dear
Watch a re-run of last year's 5-1 shame at the Lane and reconsider........
why how many times did the goalie pick up a back pass then?

Good grief - is that the most considered response you can give. So he picked up a back pass - deep shame, no other keeper has ever done that have they ?

Rather that than old Flap-ianski, coming off his line and missing two goals and having one from Keane go straight through his hands. Oh, and I didn't miss the slapstick moment he had against Fenerbahce either with the one and only thing he had to do all game i.e. shall I come out, shall I stay, shall I come out, shall I stay.........I know I'll just stand here and let the striker waltz through on goal (thankfully the shot was shit)

Almunia's really improved this season, and can probs stay until Fabianski, Sczezny, Butcher, Mannone et al. come through....

I'm not blaming Almunia for this one. He got a weak back pass from Sylvestre and with Rooney there what's he supposed to do, try and outplay Rooney by using his feet? No fucking way. If he'd tried and lost out then Rooney would have had an open goal and we would've been 1-0 down. We gave away an indirect free-kick, and I don't blame Almunia at all. It was Sylvestre's fuck-up that caused it.
