Arsenal are keen on Atletico Madrid's defensive midfielder Koke Resurreccion.

We'll certainly be in need of a resurrection come January.

Maybe we can find a Brazilan called Lazerus ?

And someone who can turn the Manager's constant 'whine' into 'wine' ?

Do you think he was named for when Coke changed its recipe and then there was an outcry and the brought back the previous recipe?

Thanks to nuttygoonerpaul for this "link" from The Daily Star

Bayern Munich defender Daniel van Buyten has admitted Arsenal are a 'very attractive club' amid rumours of interest from the Emirates Stadium outfit.

Reports in Thursday's press link the Gunners with a move for the towering centre-back, who had a loan spell with Manchester City in 2004.

It is claimed Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is eager to strengthen his backline after watching his side concede 15 goals in their opening 13 Premier League matches.

Van Buyten, 30, has hinted an offer from the North London club would be a tempting proposition as he struggles for regular first-team football at the Allianz Arena this term.

The Belgian said in the Daily Star: "Arsenal are a very attractive club. That goes without saying.

"When we reach the mid-season break I will take stock of my situation at Bayern. There is still time for me to make a decision.

"At present I'm not getting to play as many games for Bayern as before. I am concentrating on trying to get back into the side."

But are they "available at the right price", "better than the quality we already have here", approaching puberty and likely to pick up two month long injuries before we see them in red (yes that includes the Chief Exec role !!!)

Wenger wants to re-sign West Ham and England defender Matthew Upson, 29, in January as a replacement for Gallas. (Sunday Express)

Not sure how I feel about this. I always thought he was error prone when he played for us but going back a while now. He has looked pretty sound when he has played for England. West Ham are bust so we might be able to get him for Arsene's magic "right price"

I wonder if Arsene shops at Lidl......

Could be a good shout actually. Wenger’s always said he rates him highly and didn’t want him to go, plus as you say West Ham are f*cked money-wise.

Arsenal and Tottenham are keeping tabs on 18-year-old FC Copenhagen defender Mathais Jorgensen, who made his debut for Denmark in last week's 1-0 loss to Wales. (Daily Star)

Various sources once again linking us to Bayern Munich striker Lukas Podolski.

Wenger sends scouts to watch De Rossi

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has sent a series of scouts to watch Italian international midfielder Daniel De Rossi. Sport.co.uk broke the news two weeks ago that Wenger was interested in the hard man, however reports are surfacing in the Italian press that Wenger has had the player watched on a number of occasions.

Wenger is expected to face fierce competition from Real Madrid who reportedly sent a party of officials and scouts to Rome last week to make contact with the player. Predrag Mijatovic, the Sporting Director at Madrid also revealed that De Rossi is on the Los Blancos most wanted list, and that the club tried to sign the player before he signed his new four year deal with AS Roma.
