shitty bastardhole of a day

shitty bastardhole of a day

Post by SPUDMASHER »

What a shit day I had yesterday.

I was supposed to sit an exam from 11am til 3.30pm in Greenwich.
I left home at 9.15 and got there at 10.45. Time for a coffee and then in the lecture room. My paper had not arrived at the uni and was being couriered from Lincolnshire by Motorcycle. I finally started at 12.45 which took me through 5.15pm. So I now had to encounter rush hour traffic through the Blackwall tunnel and up the A12.
There was an accident on the A12 where it meets the A127 and I was at the wrong end of the 5 mile tailback. I turned my engine off and didn't move for an hour. Once we started moving it took nearly another hour to do those 5 miles.
I got home last night at 9.40pm when I should have been home around 5.30ish.
To cap it all the exam was a complete bastard and totally out of my comfort zone. Purchasing for retail is entirely different to purchasing for industry. I know I've failed and I am totally fucking pissed off about the whole thing.
Consequently I'm not in too good a mood today.

Poor Spuddy :roly: :one2smooth:

I've had nothing but bastard train cancellations all week and this morning i had to lug a suitcase on the train which was late and then terminated before Victoria because 'one of the doors will not open'. Had to then drag said heavy suitcase across four platforms, up and down stairs, get on a crowded replacement train where everyone evilled me for having a suitcase, then get on the tube, then up more stairs... Eventually got to Pret for a coffee where the guy serving me asked 'Are you going away?',

me: 'yes to manchester'
him: 'will you see man united?'
me: 'no, man city v arsenal'
him: 'arsenal are shit this season. £2.50 please'

Next problem: Virgin trains this evening.

There's your problem, Spuddy - too polite. I would have flung him through the window and THEN gone outside and asked him through which window he'd like to re-enter the building.

Sorry to hear that, Spuddy.. hope it's not as bad as you fear.

There's 2 ways to take it...

1. If you tried your hardest, and revised thoroughly, then take pride in whatever grade you get... you can only do your best!

2. If you didn't prepare properly, then use it as a turning point.. from here on in you're going to give your all and make the best of the situation. That way, you use a poor result as motivation rather than a millstone around your neck.

I guess the key is to dust yourself down and get on with it... it's your final year, so not long to go, and definately worth the effort

* pot. kettle. black. I need to practice what I preach

Dude. Has your dad kicked your ass yet? That's disgraceful. My taxes pay for your education. If I lived in England...
