WAS YOUR DAD A GOONER

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

My old man, said be a Tottenham fan.............

Not really, just seemed like a good time to bring out the old chants.

Both me and my brother were raised as Arsenal. The whole family comes from Hertfordhire (although my Nan grew up on Blackstock Road). When i was about 2/3 every saturday, we were only allowed ice cream after dinner if Arsenal won. To be honest, i dont remember this to hand, although my brother (3 years my elder) told me the story, and to be honest, at 2/3 years old, im not entirely sure i knew what Arsenal was. All i know is i was a gutsy fucker, and i wanted Ice cream!!!!

Its amazing that my love for food has transcended into a love for Arsenal. Me and my brother are by far the biggest Arsenal fans in the family. Although there is other family that support them, they never attend etc etc.

Unfortunately, with the whole family from Hertfordshire, we also have Spurs and Chelsea fans in the family, however, we just dont ever speak to them!

I was born in Portsmouth (as was my bro) due to my old man being Navy when we were born. I have to explain this story to every fuckin Pompey fan that asks me why i dont support the local team!!!

Can you imagine only getting ice cream when Portsmouth won back in 1987/8 (when i was 2/3)...... Hell, I would have never tasted the stuff!!!!!

Regards

Craig
