MAN CITY THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It's something like the ball is deemed to be in the gk's hands while he is throwing it up to kick it out.

Bit of a stupid rule really.

Did that come from some 'keepers whinging for more protection??

Eboue-Why? wrote:Worthinggooner is spot on. Wenger has got it wrong, we (and hopefully he) all know that but we just have to get behind him and the team through this period. The type of support through that last 20 mins has to somehow be transported to the Emirates. CL group game nights are often like morgues so this Tuesday's atmosphere is gonna be interesting to say the least. However getting 50000 to sing We love you Arsenal constantly.........

Yes we the fans love Arsenal but do the likes of Greedybayor,RVp and Bendtner love Arsenal?Do they fuck they love their wage packets.

It's actually a sensible rule.

Can you imagine what would happen if you were allowed to prevent the goalie from kicking the ball out?

every time the keep would go to kick out of his hands (which is many time every game!), the striker would leave a foot in... and goalies would have to resort to sprinting away from the striker, before kicking.. or throw it out all the time.

It would be daft.

Anyway, why was RvP arguing?? he must surely know the rules and that his goal was ALWAYS going to be disallowed.

Good points there g88ner. Can tell I'm not a 'keeper myself can't ya?

RVP's arguments were just like his red card - complete frustration.

It's actually ruled as "ungentlemanly conduct".

Agreed. It would slow the game down more and lead to even more controversy and arguments.
