I'm not paying £50 to watch that lot again (21/11)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I will be paying more than £50 to be at the Wigan match but the emails being sent out by the Club indicate that very many fans might not be. Is this to do with the credit crunch? Our recent poor results? The all too obvious discord within the squad? A combination of all these things?

And what do the manager, players and directors need to do to put things right?

Let's be clear here, I'm amazed that even for Man U and Spurs I could still see empty seats in the lower blocks as well as Club Level where I sit.

So Wigan should be a real eye opener.

Problem is, the Club 'say' they use ticket sales, to conduct attendence figures. But the problem with that - even if it's true - is that, in extremisis, you could have an attendence of 60,000 watched by nobody.

As I've said, Wigan - hardly the most attractive prospect at the best of times - should be a real eye opener.

I suppose the only good thing that can come from empty seats is hoping we see reduction in ticket prices, (although I highly doubt it :( ) so that younger fans can afford to support the team they love week in week out. One of my biggest fears has to be that a new generation of Gooners are being brought up without any means to get to maches, especially during these hard times, with nothing more than the means to get to the odd Carling Cup match :?

The whole point of supporting a football team used to be to help them overcome adversity - not just watch them win - though that helped! The chips are down - time for the true supporters to stand up and be counted. I cringed at Gallas' comments and am pleased he's gone.

A true fan supports their club through thick and thin no matter what.

Trust me I've seen some thin times :banghead:

I'm sure there are plenty out there that would be grateful to finally see the boys play at the stadium - all you doubters/ fly by nights need to stay away and let the real fans take back their club!
