Next Gooner Back Cover

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Next Gooner Back Cover

Post by gooner.ed »

Right - The idea of using the redknapp family wii adverts was put forward by smooth. also thanks to garry the gooner (who i'm not sure frequents the forum, but emails me occasionally) for providing the images. what i need is a suggestion for text to go with a back cover featuring one of the below shots.

maybe easiest thing would be to post them in separate posts and then you can reply to the relevant pics with your suggestions. could be speech bubbles or text above/below the image to make a spoof ad. your decision. we'll almost certainly use the best one on the back cover of the issue that goes on sale at the liverpool game. next 3 posts are the choice of pics. so quote the relevant photo (press quote on that post) to get the pic in with your ideas. hold on while i get these in place...

Can someone good with photoshop make a nuclear explosion happen behind the sofa, then have Jamie and Harry's eyeballs melt?

Mmmm....I need a bit of time on this one but the article pasted below may inspire others a bit. It also shows what a fucking hypocrite Redknapp is

Harry Redknapp Blames Xbox For Poor English Footy
It's all Microsoft's fault, apparently
11 Oct 2007

PES 2008Portsmouth FC's manager, Harry Redknapp, has blamed England's current ineptitude at The Beautiful Game on the Xbox.

In his column for (wait for it!) The Sun, Redknapp moans, "It may sound old and corny but when I was growing up, working class lads like me in the East End lived and breathed football. Now I rarely see a kickabout in the park. All I see are the dazzling lights of bedroom windows from the glare of TVs and computers. It seems football cannot compete with an Xbox."

We're sure he means games machines in general, and not just the Xbox. Or the 360, at the very least.

Redknapp is being hard done by, he reckons. "I'm fed up with managers being made scapegoats for the state of our domestic game", he whinges. "The English working class is turning its back on football - and that is not my fault."

No, Harry, it's Nick Bloody Hornby's fault.

Surely use some of his quotes for the caption then?

I've seen them play! I would rather mince about on a Wii"
