Cant disagree with most of that, except that I think Vela is good still. Well done.[/quote]
yeah i like Vela and hope he comes good, but on what i have seen in the CL and PL and the cups he disappears in games and was non existant tonight i will give him the one season benefit of doubt and hope he comes on next season

Fucking embarrassing performance!!
Exempting Ramsey, Wilshire, Vela and Gibbs due to their age, anyone that thinks Denilson, Eboue, Silvestre, Almunia, Bendtner (who I had high hopes for but alas he has deteriorated in the past year), and Randall are good enough for a top team, then I want the number of their dealer as they're obviously on some strong shit!! Problem is, Wenger is the one man that does believe it!!
As for all the defenders of Eboue - the guy was once again at his very shit worst, in supposedly his best role!!
And you can't use the excuse that it was because the fans got on his back for this one!!
Time for Wenger to wake up because, whether he knows it or not,
he is periously close to losing the majority of the fans and of
staining his legacy.

I don’t think the team selection in itself tonight was all that wrong. The biggest advantage of finishing top would have been playing the 2nd leg at home cos we could just as easily get a tough draw by finishing 1st. Plus as well as the injuries we’ve all been saying for weeks that Cesc & Clichy etc need a break and why doesn’t Wenger trust these young players enough to play them.
But tonight has to be the final confirmation for Wenger that some of these players just aren’t good enough and NEVER will be. Song and Bendtner especially for me proved once again that they just aren’t up to it and Wenger can’t hide from that after tonight!
Worst culprit for me though was Diaby. Unlike some of the others this guy actually has a lot of talent but he should be seeing games like this tonight as an opportunity to stake his claim for a place in the team. If he cant get himself up for it in that situation then he just doesn’t have the attitude required to make it at the top level. Wenger himself has said that by the age of 18/19 a person’s character and mindset are established for life and after that it’s hard to change. Well if that’s the case then maybe he needs to look at the attitude of the likes of Diaby and cut his and our losses.
Some of these players tonight should forfeit their wages for the week to refund all the Gooners that spent their hard earned money to go over there & watch that.

This crap sums up the ambition at the club at the moment. Tonight was a chance to send out a decent side, win the group and get an easier game in the second round but Wenger decided that he'd rather play a young side, have the piss taken out of us and play Barcelona, Juve etc instead. I really do feel that the powers that be at Arsenal aren't that fussed cos we're still in Europe, we'll get a few extra quid from the next round and hopefully be there agin next season. At absolute best, we are a second round of the Champions League team and I think that suits many at the club.
We've seen off any real quality from the club since 2004 and repalced it with avergae -Cesc excepted- players. If the club and Wenger were really serious about doing well in this competition, would we not have seen investment, stronger performances and perhpas more effort. There's a time to play a weaker side and that's when you have easily won your group and can't be caught. Not when you're playing to win the group. I sadly, fully expect a swift exit from Europe come February but in the board's eyes, I'm sure that will be success and a few more pounds in the coffers.

i would not mind losing as long as they gave it a go but it just looks to me as if they cannot be fu#king bothered. We manged 2 shots on target and 1 free kick which was more like a pass back to the keeper.
In recent years we have always played quick attacking football and created plenty of chances. ok we did not always win but least you always fancied us to score.
Now we just seem to plod round the pitch passing the ball sideways with no penetration and then just give the ball away!!!!!
