John was brill.
Very amusing man. Typical blunt Yorkshireman. Tells it straight.
Had a go at referees. Reckons they are quite happy to punish fouls. As long as they are outside the box. At which point, they bottle it. Don't want to award penalties.
I reckon he's correct.
You see defenders wrestling people to the ground. Pulling shirts. Stepping on feet. Anything to stop the attacker jumping for the ball. It goes unpunished 99.9% of the time.

John did the whole tour.
I sat in Peter Hill-Wood's seat. Arsene's seat (number 13). Walked through the player's tunnel. Dressing Room. Loads more.
At £35, it's a good Christmas present for any Gooner. You get a goodie bag and John poses for photos and signs his photo, too.
We were supposed to get Charlie George, but he did a sickie when he lost all his money on the horses.

Met him once when we went to his pub in Thaxted back in the early 80s, The Greyhound I think it was called. Don't spose he still runs it now tho. What you say is what I remember about him, a very funny man with a very dry sense of humour and still loves the Arsenal. Wish we had a few more of his kind playing for us today.olgitgooner wrote:John was brill.
