HOW MUCH WILL WE SPEND IN JANUARY?
Right well Quartz is doing the names we are linked with so I thought I would ask how much you realistically see us spending in the transfer window?
Personally, I think people are getting far too excited with what's going to happen in the transfer window.
The best players hardly ever move, they are injured or cup tied and, oh yes, we have no money to spend!
So regardless of if we sign one player or five, how much do you see being shelled out or do you think whatever outlay we commit to will be outweighed by what we get in through sales?
Personally, I will be impressed if Wenger spends the price of a new pair of shoes in the Next sale!
(I know we may never actually know the value due to the Arsenal way of "undisclosed" fees but we all know the approx value of a player and we can use the medias best guesses as valuations.)

He is a bargain hunter . If he thinks a player he values at 15 million is available for under 10 million he would buy him ( even if we dont really need someone in that position ) . On the other hand he wont buy a player we desperately need unless he feels he is getting a good deal .
I'm gonna be a optimist / dellusional and vote for 10 / 15 million . Hopefully with the general worldwide financial meltdown , some bargains will attract our miserly manager into actually spending .

therefore, we've collected points in 71% of our games! now that sounds more positive!SPUDMASHER wrote:or five, or putting it another way 29%g88ner wrote:I agree with DB.DB10GOONER wrote:We will spend fuck all. Everything is fine. We have a young squad full of potential. We can't risk killing them. Everything is fine.

Everything is fine... no need to panic buy because we lost a game or 2![]()

Arsene Knows!

nah, seriously, we NEED to sign a combative midfielder, and if a top quality player isn't available, then a stop-gap will have to do... it's that important!
Failure to buy in this position, is bordering on sabotage!
I voted for £5-10m.

I'd love to be proved wrong, but I voted for the first one. I don't think Gallas will stay. The slight cup-tied for the CL issue won't be an issue if Milan's interest is real. If Juve's interest is real, then it doesn't like it matters to Ranieri. Bring Senderos back, plus Eduardo's return, and that's 'like two new signings'!
I can see us signing some youngster we won't see 'til the turn of the century from Siberia for half a million too.
