Usmanov takeover
In light of Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith leaving leaving the lockdown agreement, and taking her shares with her, I am interested to find out how many supporters would be interested in Usmanov owning the club.

Had had this poll a few times now and the outcome is always the same.
He can't do it.
Under the rules he has to make an offer for the club if he passes 29.9%
Whilst he can fund the purchase of her shares he cannot currently finance the buying of the whole club. All the board would need to do is indicate that they would accept his offer to buy and he would be forced to back down as he knows he cannot do so.
I'm 100% certain that he will not be acquiring those shares.

lets get something in to perspective here, i dont want the jabba looking *word censored* running the club either, but do you really think he gives a fuck what i or any of the rest of us think ?
however in saying that, with his company and his money going downwards at the moment, i would be very surprised if he did launch a takeover bid anytime soon

I was dead against is, but can't see what he'd do badly....
Price fans out of the club? Unlikely, many people have already been priced out, our tickets are as expensive as they can go, and it's already taking longer for games to sell out
Saddle the club with debt? We're already saddled with plenty of debt, no matter how you spin it. It may be "manageable" debt, and it may be completely paid off within 20 years, but does that make a difference?
Demolish the class that the Arsenal board have shown over the years? What class? Selling the fans up the river, seeking profit over glory, making tacky additions to the stadium which are supposed to pay homage to Highbury (ie, Clock end clock!)
Deprive the manager funds to strengthen his squad? Has Wenger made a net profit on his transfers since he's been at Arsenal? We probably spend, net, less than many Championship sides on a yearly basis.
I'm not pro-Usmanov, and I think his human rights record is shocking, but you don't get into the position where you can consider buying a multi-billion £ business without being a bit of an 'orrible *word censored*!

I worked at the club for around a year. Do you know how many times any of the board members ackowledged my (or anyone else's for the matter) existence? Once, when we held the lift open for Ken Friar. That lot wouldn't recognise class if it smacked them in the face. The sooner they're out, the better.
But, and let me make this clear, I do not support any Usmanov backed takeover. Or any takeover. Usmanov, like all of the Russian oligarchs, got his billions by taking massive advantage of a massively suffering post-Soviet economy. Many of the oligarchs had KGB connections (as ex-KGB members knew how to get things done), and so have huge human-rights abuses against their names.
I wouldn't want to be associated with Usmanov. Or Berezovsky. Or Abramovich. Or anyone who is referred to as a 'tycoon', 'magnate' or 'oligarch'. The current board has no class, but I'd take it over Usmanov et al in a flash. If Usmanov wants to pump billions into the club, I say let him, so long as we retain autonomy, and his shareholding stays where it is.
In the current financial climate, I'd be surprised if Usmanov did buy Bracewell-Smith's shares. I'm not sure on the law, but I think Spuddy's plan can be countered though. Just make a bid lower than any reasonable valuation of the club. The board couldn't accept, and if they do, Usmanov would get the club on the cheap. That is unless he has to make a bid where each share is priced at market value, minimum. In that case, yeah, do what Spuddy said.
