As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Carra, the yellow shirt thing was due to a thread in the redandwhitekop general forum were some fans had a go at Arsenal being insensitive for daring to celebrate a great night for us
The RAWK forum is full of idiots, JCL's and out of towners to be fair.
yea i know what you mean
Look, okay you seem to hate us so fair enough but it never used to be like that. We've never had a problem with Arsenal fans. When you won the league in 98, you came to Anfield the next game and the banter was great. The 89 defeat hurt like fuck but we were never bitter about it. The whole of Anfield applauded you that night.
i agree and fair play to you for that
When we won (stole I admit) the FA Cup against you in 2001, your fans were brilliant outside and very magmanimous and the two fans, I felt always got on quite well. Now you all seem to have gone full circle on us. Rather than friendly banter at the games, its alot more obnoxious (murderers, your support is fucking shit, anfield library, HOOF constantly etc).
that's the way it should be
What's changed since 2001, to make you hate us? As far as I was aware, Arsenal Liverpool was the only game out of the top 4 teams, where the two fans don't hate each other. We hate Chelsea and United but don't hate Arsenal.
i think its down to many things.
1. the new stadiums and lack of atmosphere IS down to your mob and we resent it
2. the liverpool myth that you do fuel such as the famous "atmosphere"
3. your mob still storm gates trying to get in ......what the fuck is that all about?
4. i can never get a cab from your ground to the fucking station?

with a nice brick or two.
NICE TOUCH .
BTW..scousers AINT that funny really
Well there's not much i can do about that now is there?
I don't go as much anymore but in the 70s and 80s, I went absoloutely everywhere with Liverpool and rarely missed a game. I've been caught up in horrendous trouble at countless grounds over the years. I've picked off on my own and beaten up, i've had bricks, stones, screwdrivers, bottles and even fireworks thrown at me, from Middlesbrough to Millwall. I don't hold a grudge to those clubs and their fans now as a result.
Fans weren't well behaved back then in the slightest and hooligans ran riot at most clubs. Ours included.

There's been a lack of atmosphere at grounds for over a decade, Highbury, Anfield and the Emirates included. Why start to bring it up now, in the last couple of years? Hillsborough happened in 1989. The Taylor report (which didn't pull the finger at LFC fans at all and said stadia needed to be brought in line, for supporter safety) was a year or two later. Its now 2008.
2. the liverpool myth that you do fuel such as the famous "atmosphere"
The European nights are usually spot on. Otherwise its shit nowadays, apart from the odd game when the crowd are up for it. Chelsea in 2005 was the lousest i'd ever known it. Any clued up Liverpool fan will admit that. The old Kop though, is a major part of our culture and history, so people do go on about it I suppose. The new Kop though is shit.
3. your mob still storm gates trying to get in ......what the fuck is that all about?
'Mob'. There is a small element yes. As there is at United (Lille away for example). Believe me, those that do it get told.
4. i can never get a cab from your ground to the fucking station?

for me the fact that we left Highbury and went to the fabulous souless bowl has a lot to do with it

disagree with this, last season in the euro cup i thought your crowd was shocking and trust me the Grove IS THE PITS

fair enough

Radford, I wasn't accusing you of anything, just remarking on the chants with sadness
I have no trouble with Liverpool fans as a whole, always a few idiots like those that rushed at Athens. I think there has been a general decline in once friendly relations and more a tribal element (though how much of the past is nostalgia based...) nowadays where outsiders are not as welcome as they once were. Maybe that, maybe more depressive attitude among fans recently
carra - In all my time of going i only recall the murders thing being sung only once by Arsenal and that was i believe the opening game of the season after Heysel, we had you at Anfield.
I have been to plenty of Arsenal/Liverpool games and i can genuinely say that was the only time.
To be fair there is some shit being mentioned on here regarding Liverpool.
Yes it was a dodgy place to visit in the 80s (like many grounds) as for comments on black players, the people saying this couldn't of been around much in the 70s or early 80s, very few clubs had black players.
Your lot give it plenty of Munich chanting and following Hillsborough it went very quiet.
Remember the Mancs singing "where's your famous Munich song"

Personally I blame Alex Ferguson
no offense take Magic. lets be frank here the tribal element is fucking great. i just feel that the mickeys need to accept the problems and ramifications they have caused. i have no problem with them hating us.

whats your point here? if you are inferring that it was and has been ok for liverpool as a city to practice the policy that it did/does then you are bang out of order. either you explain your point or retract that part of your post
radford - Read the post properly before getting on your high horse.
People are pointing the finger at Liverpool for having very few black players. I would assume they must mean 70s early 80s because that certainly ain't the case now.
During 70s and early 80s very few clubs had black players compared to the situation now...........FACT, so where is your problem.
You sound like one of these politically correct idots that as soon as the word black is mentioned start calling everyone racist.

now that's where you are wrong the initial post was regarding home grown players

my problem is that liverpool as a city has an awful history regarding black players considering its rich black history. so you tell me who has the problem? get your facts right before you start to criticize me

EC3 wrote:Also who said Liverpool as a city practices such a policy, where the fuck does that comment come from.
Is that a known FACT is it, if so enlighten me.
mate as i have said the cites two teams blatantly practised a policy of barring black players from entering their clubs and if you think i'm wrong then i suggest you take a trip up to scouse land and start asking the locals. these are the facts so get out of your ivory tower and find out about what it was/is like being a good black player in that part of the world. then come back and criticize me
radford - So it's home grown black players that is the problem.
Liverpool seem happy enough to buy black players, but your saying they don't want home grwon players, complete bollox.
Are there many black players from Liverpool playing for other clubs?
Your trying to make this a racist thing with daft comments "liverpool as a city has an awful history regarding black players considering its rich black history" your making that sound a fact, it's NOT, it's just your opinion.
Based on your argument is Wenger anti English.
