Questions for a Liverpool site

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Radford149 wrote:london, no problem, the midlands no problem, liverpool MASSIVE PROBLEM. FACT
Just did a quick Google search (may not be totally accurate!) and to be fair, London has a HUGE black population (10.8%); Birmingham's black population accounts for 8.4% of the total population... whereas, Liverpool's black population is ONLY 1.8%... and lets not forget that Liverpool is a tiny city compared to London, or Birmingham for that matter!

So, quick bit of maths...

Liverpool & surrounding area (pop. 816,216) = approx. 15,000 black population.
Birmingham & surrounding area (pop. 2.2m) = approx. 185,000
London & surrounding area (pop. 13m) = 1,400,000 black pop.

So, on the face of it, it suggests that Liverpool are always going to struggle to bring through black players like Birmingham and London clubs, as the numbers just aren't there!
- and when you consider that only a handful of scousers have come through at Liverpool and Everton in recent years anyway.. maybe it's not a race issue anymore.. but more a matter of numbers?

I'm sure Liverpool, and much of Britain, had a race problem in the 70s and 80s, but I find it hard to believe that Liverpool FC and Everton STILL have a prejudice against young black footballers. Of course, that's only my assumption!

But Radford does see it as a problem because he is one of these idiots who thinks it's trendy and clever to back up the minorities when there ISN'T an issue.

Wankers like him are making this country a laughing stock.

Thankfully there are more people that see through his bullshit arguments.

Personally i find him and people like him offend me, this country went to war twice for people rights but mugs like him love to knock this country.

Bit out of order there, EC3.

You shouldn't be calling Radford (or anyone else on here) a wanker. Unless it's done in a friendly banter way.

I hope you say a quick sorry for that.

And he isn't knocking our country. he just said that racism is a blot on our country.

It's good to have healthy arguments with people. And Radders does enjoy an argument. :) Don't let it get to you.

Apologise for what exactly.

Radford has tried to make this into a racist issue.............and i disagree.

Anyone who thinks this country is basically a racist country is a wanker as far as i'm concerned.

They insult the men that died in the 30s and 40s fighting against rascits and nazis.

Radford won't see that, because his kind can't...............i have no time for him.

dear god are you for real. i am stating the facts which you are choosing to ignore. you can call me all the names you want but the facts are that the two teams have a woeful woeful record when it comes to the bringing of black players through their ranks. i am not call the country racist or the city of liverpool racist i am saying that their has been a systematic policy over the years that has meant no (maybe two at everton) black players has come through the ranks in that city which has had a black population for many many decades.

you have not contradicted any of my argument but instead you hide behind name call and your it seems "victim" persona.

the facts are that only Howard Gayle has come through the ranks at liverpool (and he went through hell) and maybe two at the toffees. over the past 45 years. that is a shocking statistic that i am questioning. something has ben wrong at these two clubs for many years.

here's a bit more education for those reading this post.

1. everton fans used to be proud of the fact that they did not have any black players.

2. they used to sing "everton is white"

3. when liverpool signed John Barnes they called them niggerpool

i appreciate your numbers but it does'nt take away from the fact that the signing of black schoolboys has/is an issue for these two clubs.

They sent the same sort of questions to a Bolton forum. Funny thing is they dont like the reply's they got on there.

Bunch of muppets what the fuck do they expect form other fans, "oh we are going to lose against you and you are the best team ever we are not worthy"

I think we should come up with a list of questions to ask on there website.
I will sign up if we get enough questions

As long as you come on in a civilised manner (like the lad did here) then, the questions would be answered that way. Its only intended as pre match debate and banter, to build up to the game.

I find it strange, that people are that blinded by hatred (to a team and club who aren't even rivals) that they can't even engage into a reasonable adult discussion and instead prefer to name call from the comfort of their computers.

I didn't realise we were despised so much but you live and learn i guess. The poster will know to stay away next time.

I have a civilised question...

Just out of interest, where do most Liverpool fans stand on the possibility of the re-introduction of safe standing areas like those in the German Bundesliga?

and do you know whether the majority of families of the Hillsborough victims would support this, or be totally against it?
