Short term fix maybe.
But I don't think Bullard is mentally "intelligent" enough to play the (at times overly) complex passing game we seem to have evolved around Cesc since Bob and TH14 and Cuntley left. We no longer hit teams on the break with 3 or 4 passes and score. Now it's tippy tappy pass pass...
Bullard is an old skool midfielder - he likes to run with the ball and he likes to shoot. Our more "involved" style would probably frustrate the fuck out of him...
