The "Board/AW don't want to spend money" argument is fast becoming irrelevant. As we are now in danger of not qualifying for the CL there is a huge business case for strengthening the squad. If we don't qualify it will hit the P&L (profit and loss) account by tens of millions. If as most of you seem to believe the board are a bunch of cynical business people out to maximise their returns then no CL will reduce (if not eliminate) profits and massively reduce the value of the shares. Consequently they have a massive financial incentive to force AW to spend.

There are only 2 reasons not to spend in Jan, AW's pride or the unavailability of suitable players, the board will be desperate to see improvement.

I stand by my May 2010 expiry date for AW. I love the man but he has failed miserably to build on the 2004 season. With the exeption of one CL final, we have pantsed every competition in the last 4 seasons and look likely to pants this one too. He needs to rebuild the team in January and this summer.

I'm only prepared to support him til May 2010 because of what he has done for this club, but I'm finding it harder and harder to do so...

Unfortunately I can only see more decline the longer he stays.

I understand allegiance to Wenger because of past glories but if that is the only reason he is allowed to carry on in the role it shows clearly that he is not the man or manager he was.

2) Cesc Is God, due to your age you are unfortunately in the JCL group, insulting older fans that have lived and have memories beyond the Wenger years is immature. I know your heart is in the right place but posting a Chelsea badge on this site is disgraceful
