2 Questions for the Critics

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I am an AW supporter but the board do need to have a succession plan that needs updating as and when events happen. player wise no one particularly springs to mind but at a cost we can poach seville's team and they haven't played in the CL

Cant wait to see your replys
Why do any possible signings have to be available for this seasons champions league? Surely our priority this season is focusing on our league finish?

how is it possible? he is in the process of forming a very good team in his own image. he has no ties with the south at all and is his own man at villa.

I'm in total agreement with charlie charlie that finishing in the top 4 must be our priority right now so if I was manager my signings would reflect that. I have also always said that my criticism of wenger and calls for his removal are 100% dependent on his refusal to see the problems in our team and squad right now but if he actually is aware of them and makes really serious moves to improve the team and squad by bringing in better quality players in jan and in the summer than I would be prepared to postpone judgement until summer 2010 - however should he refuse to do that then I would hand him his p45 on feb 1st 8)

Anyway smoothie I will play along with your game for now and nominate my suggestions for a successor to wenger and signings for jan -

Wenger's Replacements :

1. Rijkard
2. Van Basten
3. Del Bosque (would actually be my 1st choice but highly unlikely to be
available :( )

Potential Signings :

1. Shay Given
2. Arteta
3. PV4
4. Xabi Alonso
5. Arshavin
6. Podolski
7. Christian Poulsen
8. De Rossi

Now I am sure that if I sat down and done some serious thinking about it I could come up with a ton more names but this is just a list off the top of my head. I am beginning to get really pissed off and frustrated with the bullshit coming out from fans who think there is no manager out there to replace wenger, no players out there that we can get that are better than what we have and nobody out there that can run our club better than our current board - talk about being afraid of the unknown  :banghead: :banghead:

Saying that, we need a "destroyer" in midfield for the Premiership rather than the CL... we could probably get away with a light midfield against Ities and Spaniards.
hes exactly wat we need, as i said in another thread he can actually play football to, great ball control

You are joking smoothie right ??? I mean I know there is no way you would undersell your own club like that :? Listen I know fans all over the world like to think that their club is bigger than it actually is but we are a big big club, especially on the european stage, and I have no doubt that if wenger stepped away tomorrow we would have a ton of applications for the job. Why wouldnt we get rijkard ? The man is unemployed, has had a break from football for a while and would probably like to get back into the saddle now especially at a club where ego's and reputations do not rule the roost. I will admit that van basten might be a different story but only because he has just joined ajax and would probably feel it unfair to walk out so soon but other than that I honestly believe that he would swim over here to manage us. You might also be aware that I have no british managers in my list but that is purely because I feel with so much of our squad now non british we need a manager more in sync with the players
