Electronic season ticket failure at Arsenal (14/8)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Electronic season ticket failure at Arsenal (14/8)

usual thread starter… well I think there were a large number of people who feared their card would fail, and it appears a few were indeed unlucky. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Arsenal underestimated the amount of work involved for the box office and the ticket reservation centre (used for season ticket seat moves) over the summer and there was a lot of pressure on those that did the work. As for the competence of the staff, I suspect it varies from individual to individual. Did you have any problems getting in? Or know of anyone that did?

It didnt work properly on the Members day and it was a balls up on Sunday too. My brother was in block N his card wouldnt work and was told to go to M where er er it didnt work  so one of the suits used their pass to let him in . He missed the first goal thankfully it wasnt an Arsenal one. Surely the gates have a manual override.

I'd say with regards to the article that you have good grounds for at the very least an apology from the Club. I'd also suggest a pesonnel letter to Keith Edelman about the failings of the process and aggro suffered.
If he's not told about the cock-ups there is very little he can do about it. I've been told he reads all letters so its probably best to send one rather than a letter.

Had a similar story. Only when my buddy I've sat with for 14 years finally secured a response from the club staff he was told that his seat had now been sold to someone else ! The Club admited eventually that they had stuffed up and offered him another seat in the stadium but now we sit 20 rows apart. I've written to membership, box office & Ken Friar to complain but have not even had my correspondence acknowledged !

Can anyone help ?

AH dam i paid by cheque
But mine's ok but at first i thought mine weren't going to be ok as my statemeant sent to me only had money put in for the season ticket
So i wwent to the bank & they confirmed to me that Arsenal have taken it out & that it should all be payed for
My Dad's card was also payed the same way & i used it for members day in which i was scared when i put it underneith the scanner that it never let me in but the steward told me it was a 10-20 second deley
I don't like the card system in a way as i know that shit is going to fly to my face when we have friendles & league cup matches ere, before it use to be with the vochers which never were empty
But we can't go back to paper tickets now as people will be trying to find seats like i use to do which was for one year (2005/06 i kept doing it, funny times)

I think for this season you have little choice, but I would write to Keith Edelman politely explaining what has happened, that you and your mate would like to sit next to each other in as good seats as you were in before and basically request that the pair of you get first pick to re-locate when the process gets going next summer. short term you are unlikely to get two as good together, but the club may agree to move you together if you are willing to put up with inferior seats for the rest of this season. and then sort it our properly next june.
