Whats Occuring

Post by Rocky Fan »

Van Persie and Walcott need new contracts and they havnt got them yet. What the hell is going on with Arsenal these days.
Quite alot of fans seem ok about us finishing 5th while I think it is a disaster but more worrying is the way our talented players are not being tied up to long contracts.
Any muppet who cant see Walcotts potential shouldnt bother watching Football.
Useless players like Bendtner keep being played and the sooner he and Eboue leave the better.
Arshavin is available but will we get him ?
No wonder there are empty seats at the Emirates.

Would not worry about players needing contracts, after letting Flamini/Diarra go the club will not make that mistake again?

I hope!

There are empty seats at ASHBURTON GROVE!!!!!!!!!!!! because all the jcls want is glory. We all want to win titles and medals but I go cos I love Arsenal regardless. Who cares if we lose some of those supporters.

I agree with all your other points, Bendtner and his fucking pink boots, ebouseless and adegreedybarndoor can't leave soon enough imo. but in reality who the hell are we going to get to replace them?

I dont think its just about dropping down the league its how it is happening. Its all about where the money is being spent and its not being spent on players.
I am so pissed of with Arsenal at the moment I cant tell you and its all due to the way the fans have been treated since the Emirates move.

Sell the fucking lot of them, lets cash in on them whilst they have some value. It would make a change to be involved in a relagation dog fight (mmmmmmmmm dog fight  ). A few years of medocre football at the Grove will hopefully result in cheaper ticket prices for the fans and a lot less tourists.

And anyone who offers five year contract at £75K per week to a player currently injured until March, with the same injury that put him out for six months last year - without confirming as far as possible that they injury will not keep recurring - has more cash than brains.

The onus, as I've pointed elsewhere, is on Walcott to prove his fitness. Not on us to shower him with money, we don't have.

The only reason Walcott attracts the attention he does is because he's English. Not his fault but a fact all the same.

For us he's scored one goal in the CC Final two years ago and run 50 yards at Anfield last season. All very commendable but nothing like enough to justify the hype.

He certainly could be a very good player. But so could a host of others who have disappeared to nothing - Jermain Pennant for example. I think Walcott is level headed enough not to follow their example but if he's injured for months at a time, every time someone tackles him and he falls over, then his future in Football ISNT.

We can't afford to have another Rosicky - indeed we can't afford the first one.

So Walcott has got a lot of 'proving' to do if/when he returns in March. After that - if we get that far - a new contract stamped "Big $" can be forthcoming.

These two players are top quality but too injury prone to give them 5 year contracts I would give them 3 year contracts that way we can see if they continue to pick up injuries.

Walcott is the clubs new poster boy, they like to use him on all the PR material and magazine covers. They are as likely to keep him on that basis alone regardless of how fit he is and how much he contributes on the pitch.

Wasn't the contract situation also something to do with waiting for the new Chief Exec Gazidis to be appointed? He is now in charge of contract negotioations I'm sure. So he should get the ball rolling with those running down now he's been here more than a month.

I don't think there is anything to worry about with reagrds to contracts.

I bet that everyone who needs to be wrapped up is within the next couple of months.

You have to remember (like you need reminding) that there is a budget for salaries and until we have concluded business in this transfer window figures for what can be spent on player retention will not be available.

My guess is they will see who comes and goes in January and then work from there.
