EUROPEAN SUPER LEAGUE?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

EUROPEAN SUPER LEAGUE?

Post by flash gunner »

No idea if it will ever happen but just wondered would anyone want a European Super league?

Reason for would be watching top quality football every week and would get rid of the cloggers we all hate within the league ie Bolton/Blackburn and as stated earlier we would get to watch top class players/football every week.

Against would be more cost/travelling for away matches and it might not be as exciting if we played the like of Barcelona or Milan twice a season rather than at the moment in the champions league.

You could ask wether we would be in it the way things are going at the moment....... What do you reckon?

I think it will get to the stage where the Champions League will be more important than the domestic leagues.

The idea of playing the cream of europe regularly definitely appeals. The big drawback (even bigger than DB10's slack foreskin) is the cost of away travel.
I can't see it would ever work.

Not to mention it would kill off what integrity football has left. This idea and 39th game are dangerous.

I wouldn't like to see it happen. Leave things the way they are.

In some ways 'over globalisation' will have negative influences on the game.
