BOYCOTT ARSENAL HOME GAMES

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I couldn't boycott the club, but I've gone a lot less this season because I'm skint.

I think the board need to explain where the "record profits" are going before a lot of people will part with their renewal cheque next season.

A boycott is pointless and the only thing that would come of it anyhow is more seats being available for more tourists.

I would suggest some kind of vocal demonstration but as we only know the words to "stand up if you hate Totnum" that wouldn't work either.

Fuck me things are not great but a boycott?

Agreed.

I've not seen any banners, just people moaning on football forums.

Fucks sake, booing Eboue is about as close as we've got to protesting. If we had any balls... we'd boo Song too

And this is the guy that wants us to buy Bullard & Parker for £15m. That will really scare the sh*t out of the teams above us eh

Just shows the intelligence of some Arsenal Supporters. "You don't know F*ck All go and support the Y*ds" is what a fellow supporter gets,

(how about getting some of that passion at the games? )
It's easy to sit behind a keyboard typing swear words instead of making a
valid point rather don't reply if you think that of me. Thats the childish behaviour of an 18 year old. I don't have to justify how long I've supported Arsenal or how old I am but know I love Arsenal FC. If i'm questioning if I should keep going to games then that shows there is a major problem with the club at the moment.

I agree that you shouldn't be told to "go down the road blah blah blah" as that is a pathetic comment.

I do think you are overreacting a touch though fella. Whilst most of us would agree things are not right I am not sure we are quite in need of a revolution yet.

Like I said earlier, if more of our fans were inclined to use their voices then I would be firmly behind some sort of vocal demonstration insdie the ground.

However, it would be a damp squib at our place and so would look meaningless and a half hearted pathetic attempt.

MyOldMan is just venting his frustrations. And he is not alone in having second thoughts about paying to watch this Arsenal team.

Many of the current playing staff do not grab my imagination and if a supporter is that unhappy with the situation the club is currently in what else can he do but stop going to games?

It's that old saying 'vote with your feet.' Personally have stated I disagree with him about a home boycott but as recently as 1994 the North Bank would often be half empty as the team was so poor.

Firstly who are "they"? and what abilty do they have to sack the board?

And if the people who run the company and have shares in it are suddenly sacked then who would take over from them.
There would be very few people with experience a knowledge of the club who would suitable to takeover from them.

We can ask for them to be sacked all we want but it's ultimately their club to do what ever they want with.

Good post.

As the shares are not publically listed, I very much doubt if the board can be sacked.

As you say, who would sack them!

why do you want to "sack the board" (even though the only people who can do that are the board themselves)? Is it because they are bumbling incompetent fools or don't know how to run a football club/business or because they are corporate whores who have sold out the club's history and traditions?

People level both these charges against them, but surely they are opposites...

If the shares aren't publically listed, how come the company is called 'Arsenal Holdings PLC'?

In any case, of course the board can't be sacked, unless there is a takeover
