I'm glad Arsenal don’t have silly money

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Safe to assume there’ll be no counter bid for Kaka

The author makes the point that money cannot guarantee success.

Chelsea have spent lots, won a couple of titles, but now appear to be off the pace for the league.

Blackburn's spending spree of the early nineties won them one title.

If Arsenal had £1BN to spend on players, would it guarantee the title?

Mega bucks buy tin; a quality boss and team buy silverware

8) The Kaka deal could change prem footie but I doubt it. Maybe the rich men's clubs could make a group of their own, sit out the season in Dubai (yawn yawn) and win their group on the most money spent, not points won for playing footie. And I DO think Kaka is just about passing his prime. Take the loot, Milan, and rebuild.
But SOME spending at Arsenal is essential because Wenger has serious holes to fill. I may be much happier at this moment to see Theo, Gallas and Eduardo back but we need extras to gain points in particular fixtures (like Larrson did so well ot Man U) and bed in for August. The Prof says he's concerned about we fans; well, splash the necessary cash and bring in a piece of silverware a.s.a.p. And I have seen patches of confident, accurate and passionate play returning which has been sadly missing for weeks - so we could build to an interesting climax - if we press on and have some luck.

Yes i wish we did have the money as we got a manager who controls what players the club goes for unlike chelski and man shitty. The boards at these clubs dictate who the club buys look at moroninho he didn't want shevcen...shev..that russian geezer but chelsea brought him and look at shitty now going after every top player in the game.
Also i don't think Wenger would buy many players when chelski went and did exactly the opposite and now hahaha have a 600mil+ debt.We r lucky very lucky we have Wenger has he believes in producing good players unlike the rest of the premier teams and so if we did have £1bn i know it wouldn't be wasted (or not as much).

This rhyme occured to me - though I'm not sure it's very original; but Citeh's opposition fans could sing it:

Chim chimeree, Chim chimeree, Chim chim chimeree: you wanted Kaka but you got Bell-amy

Chim chimeree, Chim chimeree, Chim chim cheroo: you wanted Kaka but he didn't want you!

Mind you, they did beat us 3-0, even without Kaka... :(
