i was woken up by my dad celebrating that goal apparently, i don't remember as i was only about 5 months old at the time. I didn't start crying though, according to my dad, i was Arsenal through and through even at that age in my arsenal baby clothes in a cot in the corner of the room.solwaysharks wrote:picture the scene,4 day old baby in cot, wife fast asleep on couch,me 20feet from tv,arsenal score, wife awake, baby crying, spotlights on ceiling smashed, its up for grabs now.............MICHAEL THOMAS

ALEXANDER HLE.. NAH, JUST KIDDING!!
IT'S SUCH A DIFFICULT DECISION FOR ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN WATCHING ARSENAL AS LONG AS I HAVE, BUT IF FORCED, I WOULD HAVE TO SAY IAN WRIGHT.
I LOVED THE PASSION HE SHOWED WHENEVER HE HAD THE ARSENAL SHIRT ON AND SOMETIMES HE WAS THE ONLY RAY OF LIGHT DURING A DARK PERIOD OF ARSENAL'S HISTORY - PLAYING STYLE WISE.

Re: WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE ALL TIME PLAYER EVER ?
I find it impossible to name just one, at varying stages since I've supported Arsenal there's been a player who I think would be my all time favourite but another one always seems to come along eventually. My first "love" would have to be Charlie George, you really had to be there in the early 70s to appreciate just how much of a hero he was. Everything from the fact that he was a fantastic footballer, his rebellious attitude, long hair and possibly the most important thing was that he was considered "one of us" a real fan who stood on the North Bank before he played for us. After Charlie there was Liam Brady, Charlie Nicholas, Tony Adams, Ian Wright and a certain Mr Henry. Can I give a special mention here to Johnny Radford, he does'nt often get spoken of ini these things but he was a great player and a real Arsenal man even tho he did come from Yorkshire.Chunky The Gooner wrote:I know there are going to be a lot of calls BERGKAMP, HENRY AND BRADY. He doesnt have to be the most talented player and remember this is for your FAVOURITE player not who you thought was the BEST.
Ive gone for super ROBERT PIRES as mine.

Has to be Bergkamp for me.
He told us he would finish his playing days at arsenal and.... he did!
He for me was the first player that played Arsenal football as we know it today (I am 25) so before that the only silky players were wright and Merson, and merson went to shit.
I do like keown, and Adams though.

Dicko !
Welcome back. I never got to see the play , was it any good ? Didnt our own Tom Watt do some of them ? and I think the geezer who used to be in London's burning did some ( He played Colin I think in LB) Ive seem the film over and over again and still get goosebumps when they play the bit of music "HOW CAN WE HAND ON TO A DREAM" and it has all the old footage with Brady and Bob Wilson in it . Quality
