Were Arsenal right to reject Athletico Madrid's offer for Eboue?
Were Arsenal right to offer Eboue a new deal?
eboue is always the worst player on the park. this is not just my opinion it is also the opinion of the press, papers and commentators.
he always gets the lowest or next lowest marks out of 10 in the papers.
arsenal fans know he will be substituted after 60 or 70 mins.
we also know we will look better when he goes off.
we are like trained seals. sitting and waiting for the 60th or 70th minute till he goes off.
arsenal fans didn't boo him because he was bad for one game. they boooed him because he is consistently rubbish.
i for one cannot understand why arsene persists in playing him just for the sake of playing him.
we are in freefall, but nero still plays his fiddle.
how long before the terraces start to empty because ebooues always playing? arsenal fans will not always pay to watch rubbish.

It's bad enough when Eboue plays, but the most worrying aspect of the whole thing is that ARSENE KEEPS PICKING HIM. Anybody who has seen him play knows that he simply is not good enough and yet our manager seems to have some weird affection for him that nobody else can understand.
I really start worrying for the sanity of Wenger when he keeps making such bizarre decisions.
Also against Bolton, after injuries forced him to make changes Wenger played Nasri in the centre of midfield. This proved to work out well and as already discussed in a previous thread, some of us thought that the Fabregas situation had been solved to a certain degree as Nasri was much more influential in this position. However, since this game Nasri has been played out wide again where he is not so involved or creative, and Vela hasn't had a start.
We may be short of money but Wenger doesn't seem to make the best use of the players we have. It's getting more and more worrying and depressing as the season goes on.

I have become completely exasperated with Eboue. He used to be half decent but now he is consistently bad. I know Vela was ill or something yesterday, but hem Wilshere or even Gibbs in a midfield role would be a better option. Nasri could switch to the right to accomodate Vela or Gibbs (or even Clichy in a midfield role - it might make some of his mistakes less costly), on the left.
as a footnote, it's good to see young Jack W getting some extra pocket money by appearing in the new Cadbury's milk chocolate ad!

That's a good idea, in current situation, put Nasri on right, Gibbs in left mifield.Redexpress wrote:I have become completely exasperated with Eboue. Denilson and someone else in middle.
Historians now suggest Nero was not nuts, but actually has his reputation smeared by rivals after his death.corn wrote: Nero still plays his fiddle.
But I get your point...if Wenger fails to buy a defensive midfielder this transfer window, I will scream!!!!!!!

The whole Eboue situation beggars belief. It really does. How on earth such a poor player can make the starting line up is a complete mystery. What on earth does Arsene Wenger see in the player? It is a sorry state of affairs if no one on the coaching staff at the club is questioning Wengers judgement as to why Eboue (on this seasons form) is even in the squad let alone in the starting line up. On another level, I feel the club are taklng fans like me for a ride when we are asked to pay top dollar prices at The Grove to watch players of such a low calibre. Sorry to moan, but quite simply it is not good enough!
It's not just Eboue !
The reason we are in such dire straits has all to do with bieng in massive debt and the imploding property market, although Wengers lack of tactical awareness and pure stubborness in picking certain players isnt helping.
Look at any of the current team and would they stand up to comparision with anyone who played at Highbury
Henry v Adebayor or Berkamp v Van Persie etc etc, they dont cut the mustard and never will be as good as those we had.
Arshavin wont change much as we still need to sort the back 4 out and we still need a ball winning midfielder.
If we can get money for Eboue Adebayor and Gallas then out them now,Bendtner can still come good and will work more than that togo telegraph poll who refuses to work since his pay rise !
We will be very lucky to finish 4th and Wenger would gladly sacrifice the FA Cup to acheive this and thats what makes me sad !
