END OF THE ROAD ARSENE!

Post by gus ceasar is a legend »

Time to say goodbye Mr Wenger.
The season has been a sham from the very start and all the while we have had to endure your bluff and bullshit. We are intelligent people Arsene, we know what is served up infront of us is shit and we could handle that if you was honest about it.

I have watched and will watch Arsenal through thick and thin. I have celebrated Hillier's goals the same as Henry's. Not anymore though. Until you offer me some honesty and interity you won't receive my support.

Seeing your interview last night made my blood boil. You try and hide the facts with words that were once eloquent but are now tired and thin with no substance.

"This is a game we wanted to win". As opposed to what Arsene? What games do you want to lose? Say something factual that means something to me instead of the bullshit only swallowed by our new supporters.

If you stood up and said mistakes have been made and admitted that the side is not good enough I would applaud you. When I saw Arsenal in the mid-nineties I didn't mind that in the main it was awful as there was no disguise wrapped around it. We were what we were and I was happy with that as there were no expectations.

Your side now though is little better than that in truth. Our odds today of winning the title are 66-1, double that of Aston Villa! The bookies are not stupid as we in the main are not stupid. Everyone can see through your gutless speeches, everyone can see you are half the manager you used to be and that your team is a shadow of what it was just four years ago.

Every week I hear economic's from you. Ramblings about how the club will be in good shape in fifteen years time. Are these words meant to pacify the support who have seen a fantastic football side dismantled and replaced with sub-standard shit with no love for the club.

Right now I would like a new manager to come in and tear apart your squad. If it means finishing mid-table for a few years then so be it. I will be happy that someone else is trying to build a team capable of winning honours in an open and honest way. I'd take that day in, day out over your lies and misguided notion that the only way to create a succesful side is your way.

You have done it more than once with wonderful players such as Overmars, Viera, Bergkamp, Henry and Pires. How the hell do you expect to replicate that success with Eboue, Diaby, Song and Bendtner? Your blueprint for footballing success is totally flawed because one of the most crucial elements of it is making the club wealthy!

You struck lucky with Fabregas. Without him we would not have one world class player. With the exception of maybe Van Persie all your other signings have failed to a degree since the Invincibles side. Hleb, Rosicky, Gallas and even now Sagna. None of these players performed or are performing to the ability they have showed elsewhere. Apart from Cesc, none of the youngsters you have brought through have set the world alight. Bendtner, Theo and Clichy have never performed to the levels you say they can. The less said about Denilson and Diaby the better and we won't even go near Song.

Since 2004 you have one success, Fabregas. The product of another clubs youth policy. Where are these kids with "massive potential, spirit and belief"? All I see is a bunch of mediocre, at best, players who would never have got near your teams of the past.

Start showing us some respect Arsene in what should be your final year as manager of the club. You have already soured what you have acheived previously by constantly speaking bullshit to us or telling us about financial figures that mean little to us.

You have lost the respect I have for you Arsene and if it carries on they should take that bust of you down. I don't think it is right that someone is lifted to god like status while still at the club. Maybe this adultation has gone to your head and you feel you, as lord and master of Arsenal, can do and say as you like without question. Wrong! I can't imagine that Herbert Chapman treated the heart of the club with the same disdain as you and I can't believe he lied in an attempt to pull the wool over the supporters eyes!

Quite simply Wenger, I have had enough. My hard earned money is worth more than the shit you are serving me both verbally and on the pitch.

You were once great but now you are making yourself look a dick and I for one wish you had the balls to face facts and to realise you are a spent force.

You are simply a servant of my club and the time has come to say goodbye because I can no longer trust you with the team I love!

Just go now with some dignity!

Very well put Gus. And it's hard to dispute much of what you say.

I'll still give him to the seasons end and see where we finish and what he intends to do come next year.

But whether it's 4th or 5th is almost immaterial. If all he promises is more of the same - and I can't honestly see him changing his tune and admitting that 4 or 5 of this lot just aren't up to it - then we need to say bye-bye.

Because otherwise all he's doing is overseeing 'decline management'.

end of season is the time to plan for the future of the club and not now, we are all pissed off but none of us know for sure if it is wenger or the board who are to blame for the complete lack of quality in our first team, if it is wenger then i agree the time for change is coming and coming fast as he has lost the plot when it comes to the team and no one seems to tell him just how shit our midfield is and i wont even start on the centre halves and keeper, i hate saying it but this is the worse arsenal team since around 1994 and i long for the days of hillier and selley when i see eboue and song :banghead:

if is the board then why is wenger covering for them :?:

I agree with you Reb. The biggest problem is that we don't know where the fault lies.
Is it that money is there and he won't spend it or is there no money and his hands are tied? We just don't really know.
Personally I don't think it is there and he is having to do his best without it. If thats the case then I understand why we are watching shite like Song, Eboue, Diaby and Denilson. I also understand that it would be seriously counter productive for him to say to us that they are shite. It would destroy what little 'belief' they do have.
All I ask is that when we are poor he says ' we were poor tonight and the players know it because I have told them so'. Instead of that we get whinges about our opponents not wanting to play, 10 men behind the ball, poor pitch, tired etc. etc.
Assuming that the money is not there then I think he is towing the company line and will not dis his employers publicly. Again, in many respects I understand that too. My company is utter shite but when dealing with suppliers etc. I speak well of the business for which I work.
The board are the people that should be talking to us supporters and telling us how it is. Instead of this they treat us with utter contempt safe in the knowledge that their 40,000 waiting list will fill the seats of those that turn their backs. Complacency with regard to income generated by the fan base has created a board that feels it does not need to satisfy anyone.
I'll always support this team as they are in my blood. The current problem being that they are causing it to boil far too often lately.

I don't think there are any circumstances under which we have to watch that shite. We pay as close to the 2nd highest in the country, over the whole team and it's just these are the wrong players. Atletico Madrid interested in Eboue? And remember Stoke away and last season - he played Eboue even when others were available. And Denilson on the wing? That is not neccessary.

I think he sees these particular players as "his" discoveries and he has been moulding them and is now pushing it too far to prove that he is right.

I am sorry but I am believeing less and less about this financial restraint theory!

Arsene was able to build sides with the financial restraints imposed by Highbury.

Ou income was meagre there and he managed to produce Invincible and double winning sides. The wage bill must be half of what it was when we had Bergkamp, Pires, Henry, Campbell and Seaman picking up huge salaries.

There is so much chaff at our club that could be seperated from the wheat and sold on to raise capital to buy it is untrue. Wenger done this before when the likes of Merson were sold on as he was surplus to requirements. The money was then invested in the likes of Petit who was fantastic during his time at Arsneal and cost little. Wenger used to do that. Buy gems that were off everyones elses radar for a reasonable expediture.

Now he provides us with Eboue and Song whilst overlooking Yaya Toure. This is where Wenger has lost it.

Nobody is asking him to spend fortunes as whenever he has the result is usually failure ala Wiltord and Reyes. I am convinced there is some money availabe to spend yet he stubbornly refuses to do so as this does not sit well with his policy. The whole Arshavin thing cannot be a smokescreen that is meant to bluff us into thinking there is money when there is not.

Wenger has simply fucked up with the players he had bought in the last four years and refuses to acknowledge that by doing something positive to rectify it.

The board are no saints and everyone knows my dislike for them but it is Wenger who puts the side out and it is Wenger who has the ability to speak up IF his hands are being tied!

I'm really starting to think the problem is not a financial one anymore. I think AW is just so caught up in this dream he has of producing a league winning team of homegrown kids that he has discovered that he can't see clearly anymore.

That's what I think at the moment - of course none of us knows what the real story is behind the scenes as regards money and it may well be he is financially restrained by the board.

I'm still prepared to give AW until May 2010 to bring this team to fruition because of what he has achieved for us in the past. But even my loyalty will not stretch beyond that date if we are struggling on the periferal of the top 4 and still watching the inept shite that is Song, Denilson, Eboue, Bendtner and Diaby...

A good post Gus and I can't help but agree with most of it...

I gave him one last season but he has failed this year.He really has lost the plot.

The press are hammering Benitez but last time i looked they had lost only one game and are 6pts ahead of us.

His stubborness has proved to be his downfall. He must go in the summer

And worst of all, RvP was the only player to come over to the Arsenal fans last night and acknowledge the efforts of people who had made the 11 hour round coach journey to see us produce one chance on goal.
To be honest I think Arsene thinks a lot of the current bunch of players are sh*t but he's been forced into a corner by a simple lack of transfer funds. If you were to do away with Diaby, Denilson Song and Bendtner you would end up having to lay out at least £50M to recruit able replacements. I doubt we have even half that to spend.
This season could be a turning point. If we don't qualify for the CL it will be first time Wenger has failed to deliver on the minimum achievement he has been able to deliver every season since arriving. In my opinion this would spell the first sign of a crisis for Wenger's Arsenal.

Exactly. I can't believe he couldnt flog Bendtner, Eboue and Almunia and get in at least Given and Upson. Why aren't we in for Given? He clearly wants to be playing at a higher level. But Arsene won't 'kill off' the sub-standard Almunia. Because he thinks he's good enough or because he doesnt want to upset him? If its the latter, why doesnt he feel the same about Toure and Ramsey and Vela when he plays Song and Eboue? And if its the former and he thinks Almunia is good enough, then thats just worrying.

All good points. However, in Wenger's defence it might be worth considering the effect of David Dein's departure, and how this has heaped the pressure on AW to deal with the off- as well as the on-field business, while having to cover for a cowering board and motivate/organise a team that isn't quite yet up to scratch. That's now 4 responsibilities which AW is having to juggle singlehandedly and very publicly. Look at last night, Kolo is supposed to be our new captain, but was dropped in favour of the Gallas muppet. That shows a total lack of direction, as well as lack of spine. Wenger is clearly struggling right now on all levels, why kick him when he is down, we should instead be piling the pressure on the board, not Wenger, he is taking the full brunt of it and if it carries on like this he could well walk out. Whatever we may think now, that would be a damned shame. So, he's a pigheaded and stubborn bstard, but who did he actually listen to ? Dave Dein.. the board should be brought to account, we need someone to take care of the business side of things, just as much as we need some new players.. we're way out of our depth on the negotiations front at the moment, and being taken for muppets by clubs and agents, as we've simply got no muscle
