Shit, Augie - I thought I might get your ticket for Saturday there for a minute!!
As to your post, I see your point. And I agree it ain't about just wanting to watch a winning team. It's about watching a team that is at least trying, giving their all, fighting for every ball...
This is probably the first season I haven't been that arsed about how many times I get over for games TBH. When I was single I travelled over for about 12 - 15 home game, a couple aways and one or two European. Since getting married and having two kids that's come down to anything between 2 and 6 or 7 games max. And I live for those trips now and am always trying to squeeze another game in here and there each season if possible. The thought of spending all that money, doing all that travelling... I've NEVER ever felt like this before and TBH it fucking scares me.
Now I'm so demotivated it's unbelievable... And I ain't no JCL wanker. I travelled to so many games when we were shit (92,95, 96, in particular) so it's not that I only want to see a winning team. No - it's about the lazy crunts that currently play for us. Most of them just don't give a flying fuck. I find even watching them on TV is making me angry frustrated and depressed more than any Arsenal team in the past (even the 83, 84, 85 and 86 no hopers!). At least those teams of limited ability fought for the ball and looked pissed off if they lost...
I suppose what I'm also getting at here is that if someone like me that loves the Arsenal so much and has spent so much money and time following them can get demotivated then what chance do we have of hanging onto the 20,000 or so new (or JCL) fans in the Grove that we need to pay for the fucking place?? And we DO need their money by all accounts. And if we can't pay for the place how are we ever gonna free up money to buy the type of players that might lift the fans...?
Fucking catch 22.
I'll still travel for games because it's in my blood, but fuck me it's weird this being demotivated...

No, you won't catch us for fifth and we are having the worst season in how long?
You didn't win, deal with it!

Agreed. We were lucky. But I think it's more of a case that we were totally shit than one where you were really any good. But you did enough to earn the 3 points TBH.scouseblues wrote:hi gunners

I also don't think you will take 5th. But we might also struggle to get 5th if RVP gets his usual, and long overdue, injury....
