Rafa Benitez has entered the race for Henri Saivet, the youngest player to play for Bordeaux in their history.

Arsene Wenger has tracked the player for the last two years, inviting Saivet to visit Arsenal's North London training ground as well as sending chief scout Steve Rowley to watch the player on a number of occasions. As it turned out, Saivet signed a professional deal with Bordeaux having previously been subject to a youth contract at St Etienne.

The 18 year-old has only made a handful of appearances for Bordeaux since moving from St Etienne and according to reports in France, Benitez has entered the race to sign the player dubbed the 'new Thierry Henry.'

That's strange, I signed him on FM08 as arsenal two weeks ago.

Apparently Arshavin is flying here (again) now.
Zenit St Petersburg playmaker Andrei Arshavin has travelled to London ahead of his proposed move to Arsenal.

Sky Sports News understands Arshavin travelled by private jet from St Petersburg on Sunday night and is now waiting for both clubs to agree a fee before he undergoes a medical.

It is understood Arshavin did not want to miss out on a transfer to the Emirates Stadium for logistical reasons and decided to travel to London as a precaution in case a deal is agreed on Monday.

Zenit had previously said there was no change in developments after Arshavin left the club's training camp in Dubai on Saturday.

Arsenal and Zenit have yet to agree a deal but Arshavin's movements indicate a confidence that he expects a deal to be done in this transfer window.
