Looking ahead to City
We dropped two points versus Blackburn AND we lost our captain for three weeks. The only saving grace I can think of is that Liverpool and Chelsea gained a one point lead and Man U didn't gain any. Oh and we have a game in hand which we absolutely have to take advantage of to keep up with Chelsea.
Man City are going to be riding high on confidence after winning the derby while we'll be dealing with a thin defence and a goalie who can hopefully (!!!) steal a game for us to silence the critics. On the other hand the goalie on the other end of the pitch is a twenty year old who hasn't let a ball past him this season.
What do you guys think the outcome will be?
I say 2-1 to us with Eduardo netting his first.

I personally think city is our toughest test of the season so far.....
No matter what the media and people think of sven, he has a proven track record and is a genuine world class manager. With him as gaffer, i firmly believe man city could be the only genuine team who have a chance of finishin in the top 4.
Like Gunnerhead said, they are yet to concede and are well organised - micah richards is on fire and is one name id love to see us buy altho cos hes young and english, and city ahve money again, he'd cost in excess of £20m. His versatility is of tremendous benefit considering he can play rb, cb and defensive md.
City will go there and defend, i think we will find it difficult to break them down, and sven will prob use a low tempo style similar to what he used in italy, hoping for a goal to put pressure on us.
I'd be happy with a 1-0 but i wouldnt rule out a draw. That Elano is a class act too.

Hoping for a win
I'm going to have to go doctors on friday get an extra prescription to calm my nerves
it's going to be one of those games i think
although i think we can win, it will go either way we will be all other them and score in the last ten minutes or they will be all over us but in second half we will score 3 or 4
please please can we generate some atmosphere at the game i think we might need it especialy after everyone would of been away on international duty
COME ON YOU GUNNERS

City have beaten a sub-performing West Ham side, were lucky to get a result against a piss-poor Derby and were battered by Manure but somehow got a result.
I think I read somebody saying they would reach the top four this year. Complete and utter bollocks. Erikson and Thailand's national debt will drag them up to the dizzy heights of 8th and no higher.
The blue moon party stops at the Emirates.

Not from a coach on the M6 or maybe they had it on in the fernhurst but I was more interested in my swift pint.donaldo wrote:Anyone who saw the Manure/City game would have seen City were hopeless.Only poor finishing stopped Manure winning easily. Tottenham was supposed to crack into the top four as well. Ya right! Not going to happen with Man City either.
We have to make and convert chances versus City unlike Fulham where we couldn't convert till the end. The difference between that game and this one will be the goalkeeper. Man U had bags of chances but it wasn't good goalkeeping that kept them out of the game. We faced a hot keeper versus Fulham and tested him by actually getting the shots on target unlike Man U. If we get enough shots on Schmeichel Jr., we'll do ok.
I disagree that Eduardo seemed lost. He got one weak shot that went wide and I'm really not sure what the yellow card he got was for? I'd give him a semi-assist on the goal though so overall I think he had a decent game.
If anybody seemed lost I think it was Walcott. I like the guy and he can make runs but he's gotta get some shots off rather than look for a pass.

Have to agree. I watched the whole game and Citeh were lucky. If manure had one decent striker on they would've won three one. Even Citeh's goal was a deflection.donaldo wrote:Anyone who saw the Manure/City game would have seen City were hopeless.Only poor finishing stopped Manure winning easily. Richards and Dunne did well, but against weak strikers. I still think they'll be lucky to be out of the bottom half by next May...
We should be looking to put them away.
