SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW 2009 - Who are we linked with?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'll correct your typo. He meant - "We've got Alex Song!"

From The Sun:

ARSENAL are targeting a summer swoop for Lille hardman Yohan Cabaye in a bid to beef up their midfield.

The Frenchman is seen as the ideal candidate to add steel to Arsene Wenger's squad, which has lacked a dominant enforcer since Mathieu Flamini and Gilberto Silva quit the Emirates last summer.

Alex Song, Denilson and Abou Diaby have all struggled to make an impact this season and the Gunners currently sit fifth in the Premier League — five points behind Aston Villa in the fourth Champions League spot.

Cabaye, 23, is under contract with Lille until 2013 but is said to be keen on a switch to England.

And Arsenal are confident they can lure him to London despite interest from Lyon, Marseille and Bordeaux.
