A decent point under the circumstances, but…
Online Ed: …three points from three matches are slim pickings.

Talking points -

Eboue.
Worked hard but suspect temperament continues.

Sagna.
Continues to graft like a game 'un.

Central midfield.

Why did Wenger not buy a much needed ball winner in the recent transfer window, to enforce this weak area of the team?

Cesc aside, we have no player who can impose himself on a game in the manner Vieira used to, both creatively and defensively, and it shows in our results.

UEFA Cup? Next season this looks likely!

Defence improves.
We are keeping clean sheets, why?

Ticket prices.
Fans paid £40 or £50 for identical views. How did this happen?

Eboue - what will it take for Wenger to agree with just about every single Arsenal fan that he is not good enough? In fact, will he ever agree?

Central midfield - For me, a big enough puzzle to call in Mulder and Scully! There is hardly a weaker midfield trio in the Premiership than Denilson, Song and Eboue. It's embarrasing. We will NOT finish top 4 if Wenger persists with these three. What must our better players think when they have to play alongside them? In fact, what must Ramsey think? He's had a couple of poor games recently but he's capable of tackling, creating and shooting whereas with Song, you just hope that he gets in the way of someone as they run through, I am astounded that Song is first choice....EVER!

Maybe we are taking the UEFA cup as a gimme? Everton aren't that far behind us!! We can handle a year out of the CL but can we handle a year out of Europe all together? How many players would we lose then?

Defensively......well in all honesty a lot of it is down to either teams not trying to attack (at the Emirates) or teams just not being good enough in attack (Spurs). I don't mean to put our defence down too much, they did play well with 10 men against Spuds but we continue to give the ball away so much, Gallas and Clichy especially in the first half v Spuds.

Because of one man's complete and utter stupidity, any chance we had of grabbing 3 points disappeared with nearly an hour remaining.

Eboue is an embarrassment. He should be plying his trade at Southend or Barnet because that is where someone of his "ability" belongs.

And to cap it all the stupid chump apologises after the match BUT only to his team-mates and not to the supporters.

This shows once again that this current crop of under-achievers have little or no regard for us, don't consider how much it costs us to watch them or the hassle of getting to and from dumps like Shite Hart Lane.

And don't get me started on Song, Bendtner and Denilson. . . . . . . .

have you read his interview in Guardian on saturday?

he said something like: "We play for ourselves first, then for a manager..."

No mention of AFC or supporters...

He's a *word censored*, he's a prick, I don't ever wanna see him again, he makes my blood boil, Wenger should have got rid by now, he's being stubborn, he's the only player who Wenger has been questioned by the fans about so maybe he's trying to prove a point.

Benitez will admit when he's made a mistake on a player, time for Wenger to get rid. Even on a free if need be.

Get fucking rid of this cheating clown.

Well done Gooner Ed - a fair assesment of the situation. It is such a shame that a good point earned in difficult circumstances has been overshadowed by by the actions and stupidity of one player. For most of this season Gooners have been questioning what Eboue brings to the team. Yesterday, after his sending off we had the answer - nothing!! Apart from his cheating that is. I just hope that the new Chief Exec will start asking Arsene Wenger a few serious about Eboue's continued presence in the starting line up because having read many of this mornings blogs it is quite apparant that every single Arsenal supporter has had enough of him. Last weeks breathtaking PR excercise by the club on Eboue has spectacularly back-fired. I cannot imagine any other Premiership club having him in their squad, so what the hell is this poor imitation of a proffesional footballer doing in an Arsenal shirt? Arsene, you really need to sort this out because if we don't make that top four spot, it is going to be a very uncomfortable summer for you.

Skipper - I haven't seen the interview mate but it just proves my point.

Players like Eboue, Adebayor, Song, Bendtner etc. look upon Arsenal as nothing more than a way to earn stacks of money and live the life of riley, all at our expense.

If a better offer came along they would be gone without any sentiment for our Club. Arsene needs to carry out a major overhaul of the squad in the summer and get in some players that actually care about Arsenal.

Watching Moan Utd yesterday (Vidic, Ferdinand, Carrick) made me realise just how far we have dropped since 2004 and how far off the pace we are now, simply because Arsene keeps picking these clowns!

Wenger has said in the past that the reason why he persists with Eboue on the Right flank, is because he adds a "defensive balance" to our midfield. :banghead: :awnker:

So there you go guys, that is the point of Eboue.

I'm resigned and hurting

Post by Lanesratoo »

:( So after a sleepless night I realise that I have to think the unthinkable - we'll 'drop' from the CL. If so, I want a thorough clearout. Ade, Bendtner, even Van P can go while they are worth something - give Vela until Christmas to prove himself; Denilson, Song, Bischoff can go, even Rosicky if he shows he's lost it; Senderos, Traore, Toure, Silvestre, Alumnia can go, Diaby possibly has something to prove... So, we'd have Dudu, Theo, Simpson up front; Fab (Christ I hope he stays!), Arshavin, Ramsey, Wilshere, Diaby, Nasri plus a new holding/defensive midfielder; Sagna, Cliche, keep Gallas - he IS a professional with experience, and get two new defensive players and a decent goalie. AND change the backroom coaching staff because we're too bloody predictable. AND wherever possible, buy Brits because they have the history and the passion (teams that do best at the top of the Prem have Brits across the park) - I too am fed up with overpaid foreign journeymen. I'm sorry, Mr Wenger but you had your chances with your system and buys and you have failed us over two/three seasons and that isn't just down to bad luck. God, I hurt as a write this...

But what's going to happen is that we'll sell Fabregas, Wallcot, Adebayor, Gallas...in order to subsidise money lost by not qualifiying for Europe (even UEFA cup is a doubt)...and we'll keep Eboue, Bendtner etc...
