Flags for the Cardiff match
As has been mentioned in a previous thread the sight of so many national flags being waived at the Grove last night must have made many peoples blood boil with regard to the supposed 'ban' at our games.
No point in going into the history of it all, apart from the fact that many people have constantly campaigned for a change in the rule and have always been fobbed off with comments like 'just be patient' etc.
Well I think the time for patience is over.
Whatever your flag is bring it on Monday night, the Cardiff boys will no doubt have their dragon on display we need to show that not only is it 'OUR CLUB' but its 'OUR FLAG' as well.
Lets not just talk about it lets do it, if it means you have to sneak them in so be it.
If we really want to push this issue with the club then now is the time to stand up and be counted.

I have to be honest, & I know you will all vilify me for this, but whats all the fuss with flags at the ground?
Why do you feel you have to bring your countries flag to a football ground? Its not the Olympics & why do you feel you have to show where you are from? Surely if anything this would worsen the image that we are full of tourists for home games?!
Im not anti-flags but why all the fuss? If your that bothered about telling everyone where you are from why do you all paint your faces or wear a badge or something?
PS Are there enough question marks in this post? Do I need more?

Arsenal are an English team, playing in the English Premiership.
My flag, which I've only been able to hang at away matches (when I've not forgotten it!!), is the George Cross with a massive Arsanel Crest in the middle.
To me it says Arsenal are at the heart of English football.
When I use to go to England games abroad (loadsa times) you would always see various George Cross flags with teams names across them. It looked impressive and was stating where those clubs come from.
Wearing face paint is for f*cking kids! Wearing a bloody badge is hardly shouting from the rooftops is it?!
What the f*ck do you mean when you say "...Surely if anything this would worsen the image that we are full of tourists for home games..." - how the hell would displaying a national flag do this?? Your being plain stupid.
Having said all of this...and this will piss people off on here...I think we should only be permitted to hang the GB national flag or the English national flag. The reason being, if we allow all national flags we'll end up with the same situation as before, somebody taking a flag that offends another nationality (which to be honest is pathetic); but the one thing no one can deny is that Arsenal are an English club, playing in the English premier league, and therefore no one in their right mind can take offense at the flag(s) being used.
It isn't a perfect solution and in an ideal world Arsenal fans wouldn't mix international politics with their support of the club. But they have.

I know that the following is easy for me to say considering I won't be there personally but I think there might be a plan here.
If nothing else, this will bring the issue to a head. The more people that bring a flag the better. They cannot eject everyone that does so.
Can I also suggest that if you take a flag and are ejected from the ground as a result that you make your way to the front main entrance. If everyone that is ejected meets there and makes one hell of a fuss then it will have to be addressed once and for all.
Please be aware, if you are ejected for this they MUST return your flag to you. Once they do then display it at the front entrance.

I had a chat with a steward at the start of the season, he said they wouldn't eject anyone, they'll just take the flag down and confiscate it for the duration of the match. Afterwards they'd give it back.SPUDMASHER wrote:Can I also suggest that if you take a flag and are ejected from the ground as a result that you make your way to the front main entrance. He seemed a reasonable fella, so I believe what he said, I just wonder if all the stewards would act this way, or if some would try and create a situation.
