Do arsenal ever practice corners in training???

Do you feel confident of us scoring from corner kicks?

Do arsenal ever practice corners in training???

Post by dodger445 »

Is it just me or do we never look like scoring with our corner kicks?? We always seen to have five or six more than the other team but never make them count!
I never feel confident we will score when we have them, new boy eduardo from what i have seen looks like he could change that, as he looks quality in the air!
I sometimes feel we would have a better chance if we gave the other team a goal kick and we start again!
Just as well we're so good with the ball on the ground eh  [/b]

Big Dane and Dudu have scored from corners in pre season, Van Persie is a decent corner taker but the runs are not always very good.

Goals diect from corners

Post by Rainham Red »

I`m never confident we will score direct from a corner but I don`t think that many goals are scored from corners of any team in the Premiership. It would be interesting to know what the percentage of goals scored direct from corners is.I bet less than 10%.

We have to do short-corners as we'll never score from direct corners.

SHORT CORNERS FROM NOW ON ARSENE! 8)

No we're complete shite at them & we have been for years
We need a tall centre foward & a guy who can head & shoot, someone like Radford & others over the years
Bendtner for me is gonna be the best man for the job if he plays, with Adeobyer & Eddy out from the past few games he's had the bench to keep warm  but i believe if one of them (not van persie for the love of god) gets injured then i belive he is a good replacement & he is that fox in the box we need as well

I would literally prefer us to take a short corner, run it away from goal, and start the move again. We're that ineffective from corners..
Cesc and RvP can take them, but when I look at the players in the box, I just get the feeling they'll head it, but only if they have to...You want players who put their bodies on the line. Even if they dont score themselves it causes all sorts of chaos in the box..
Every time Terry come up for Chelsea or England I think he could score, just because I know if its humanly possible, he'll try and get to that ball...
Probably the reason we concede too many goals from corners/crosses..

I hate short corners because firtsly it slows it down and with someone like rvp to whip in the inswingers why take it short, it's hardly like are corner kick takers are useless, normally rvp and cesc.
