It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

I've removed the JG thread. Not beacuse I'm particularly offended and not because anyone has contacted me to say they are, but because the Gooner Forum is directly associated to The Gooner fanzine and therefore any negative publicity will impact directly on that, not to mention on Arsenal fans in general and personally, I don't want that to happen.

You might disagree with me which is fair enough. It's a free country and rightyly or wrongly there are plenty of places on the internet to air views which might be deemed as controversial. However, I'd rather they weren't on this forum. It was intended to be a football forum and I'd quite like it to get back to being just that.

If you'd rather have a forum which mixes football with all manner of other stuff, then I'm sure you can find one to suit your tastes if you look hard enough and failing that, why not start one up yourself and then you can be the moderator and decide what is and isn't acceptable.

zzzzzzzzzzz yeah yeah very funny. I can assure you I am far from rascist.

What started as something good has become a nightmare, political correctness has gone mad. Cant do this/cant say that in fear of offending some white middle class do-gooder.

I was merely commenting on the YouTube clip... that's all; I honestly hadn't given you (or the thread) so much as a thought, ds

I agree that "PC" has gone a little mad, but it's a 2 way street... it's also madness that people say offensive things, and then use the "PC gone mad" card.

Either way, it would certainly help if people weren't so easily offended or could turn the other cheek from time to time.

The problem with saying that "PC" is bad, is that where do you draw the line?

What are the boundaries of good and bad taste?

If someone is offended by something, they should be allowed to argue on here why they are offended.

If the person who offended them is then persuaded they made a mistake by the strength of that argument, then they can then apologise.

There will usually be someone offended by most things, but I am not in favour of, "Anything goes because it is comedy".

Context is the key factor in all this.

Like DB10 said...when he used to work on building sites in London, he would get called "Paddy".
Sometimes it was banter, other times it definitely was full of hate.

On the internet, it is hard to work out which of the two it is, as most people on here have never met other people from here.

As for me, you can call me me "Mr PC" all you like, but you all know that anti - Jewish/Israel stuff gets on my raw nerve and I fight that subject on here without apologies.

I'm so poitically uncorrect I can't even spell 'qk'. See. I told you so.

I don't have an issue with almost anything that is said in jest. I have to admit that when it comes to the Jade bits I think it's a bit cruel. I don't know why people are so affected by her. I guess it is the disease and not the person.

For me, it is all about context. If used correctly even the most rotten jokes can be funny. I'm much easier going than most so not much will get up my nose. I can't say the same for Daniella Westbrook though. Theres a fucking great gap there and I think you could get the number 57 to Golders Green up there.

Exactly, read my post at the bottom of page 1. Quartz, you are quite prepared to have a go at anyone who disrespects your view ie jewish/isreali stuff (your words) and yet you were one of the ones being most offensive (in my opinion) on the women driving bollocks. I said my piece and I left it there. I understand that you and I will never agree about women drivers and I appreciate you have the right to air your, imo sexist, views.

I knew that would get you going, the thought of apologising to me your arch nemesis, would prove too much to ignore.

Must admit g88ner I do admire the way you wont back down. I like crossing swords with you even tho I know I piss you off
