ARSENAL A BLOODY JOKE!! FOR F*CK SAKE!!!!!!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We will have when we fail to make the CL as that is a minimum £10/£12 million for the group stage and then you count upwards from there.

Does the phrase "speculate to accumulate" start to ring any bells with anyone ?

Aston Villa haven't spent billions and they're doing okay.

As I've said before, the club is only concerned with making money. Maybe when we're playing in front of a half-empty stadium on Channel 5 next season, the cretans upstairs will take note and actually splash out on some decent players. I won't hold my breath.

Wenger is entirely responsible. Members of this forum that say, "Ah, but he's given no money to spend" are clearly ignorning the fact that he terminated contracts of the likes of Edu, Pires, Ljungberg and Gilberto unncessarily. They all would have stayed if 'Stubborn Wenger' had offered more than a one-year deal. But smug AW envisioned signing adequate replacements. Well, Hleb, Flamini and co. never were, and the replacements for the latter are clearly a complete joke.

Thanks for the trophies in 98, 02 and 04 Wenger, but three leagues in 13 years isn't exactly sacking immunity, so at this stage, I'd be happy if you fucked back off to Monaco.

ok you have just change my view on wenger

sack him at the end of the season if we dont get top 4 and the fa cup

BUT, if wenger leaves will the players (e.g fab4, rvp, toure, clichy etc) want to play for a new manager, the whole squad love wenger, so maybe sacking him wouldnt be the right decision as even more quality players will leave :banghead:

i dont know what to think :?

So let's make a list:

- Kolo Toure
- Cesc Fabregas

The end.

[*Eduardo will probably be with us for a long time. The multitude of responses and get-well letters after his injury will probably ensure that he sticks around for quite a while. I'm not convinced that would've happened at an overseas club].

You can add

Denilson
Diaby
Walcott
Eduardo
Djourou
Clichy
Sagna

I admit not all of those players are top class, and at times this season some have played poorly, and I personally am very frustrated by Diaby and Denilson, but all of that list have their heart in it.

Trust me.

For us, only if he's cheap.
We're only skint when we need a player that can tackle, head or defend.

Or Zagreb. Or wherever we got that Sagna bloke from. Or Barca (bid for Toure accepted) and that Italian club Inler is at.

Edu walked out didn't he? Ljunberg couldn't get into West Ham side, Gilberto, top quality dm but he and Cesc equal the weakest (in terms of strength) cm partnership in history

Edu was an inconclusive situation. I always thought he was not offered a new deal, others here say he was not happy with money on offer.

Gilberto might have been better than Song / Denilson, but I doubt he had the legs to last a whole season in central midfield.

Ljungberg was two years past his sell by date.

Pires should have been offered a two year deal of course, but he could also have signed a one year deal with a rolling extension, after all, Bergkamp did.

No Edu didn't walk out, he had been asking for a new contract for quite a while and the club refused to offer him one, once his contract got down to a few months left with no offer from the club he had to make other arrangements, although he didn't want to leave. Then of course near the end of the season once the club began to realise how good he was they made some offers but he had already had an agreement with Valencia. I saw him being interviewed a few months ago he still loves the club to this day.
