Your Arsenal Cult Hero's

Post by OT02 »

Can be anyone, from any era for any reason.

For me, it's Baptista, because what sort of player can score a 'hattrick' at SHL and 4 (nearly 5 goals) at Anfield and still be shit?

Honourable mentions go to Igor Stepanovs and of course, the mighty Pascal Cygan!

Baps for me as yes he did score twice at the Lane (what wouold of we done without him????)
4 at the field which gave Arsenal the best victory of the season as they played exiting football as useually (even got a dvd of it lol)
He tried to give his best & in the end i was sad not to see him at the Grove this season as Adeboyer had a wonderful end of season form before which stoped a move ever happening
Plus for the love of Arsenal he did lose all that weight lol

According to wikipedia:

As of 2005 Wreh has retired from football and is now concentrating on his musical career, with his band 'Soul Rebels', currently touring Europe.

He must of completely forgotten he played in an FA Cup Final

OTO2,

THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION IS JULIO BAPTISTA!!

I TRUST YOU WERE BEING IRONIC ABOUT MR 'FORGED BRAZILIAN PASSPORT'!! THAT IS THE ONLY THING I COULD ASSUME AFTER SEEING IGOR AND PASCAL MENTIONED AS WELL IN YOUR LIST OF CULT HEROES. IF NOT, THEN YOU DEFINATELY MIS-SPELT THE WORDS CRUNTS AND ZEROS!!

'BIG WILLIE' YOUNG WAS PROBABLY THE FIRST PROPER CULT HERO DURING MY EARLY DAYS - I DON'T INCLUDE MANCINI BECAUSE HE WAS JUST DOWN-RIGHT SHIT!!

Well, if it's THAT sort of cult hero, mine has to be Sol Campbell. After all, Gary Mabbutt and Colin Calderwood never scored in a Champion's League Final :P

Ian Ure, what a performance against the mighty Swindon Town in the 68 league cup final  Terry (Henry) Mancini, a <ahem> very "cultered, footballing" centre back in the 70s :| The great Australian international forward, John Kosmina, Chris Whyte, Gus Ceasar, legends all, I'll never forget them :?

Johnny Jensen, for wearing white socks with his suit, for scoring against QPR when I was in Denmark, in a season where I only missed three home games.
For his unsung contribution to the team.
He was a great fighter

Well on the playin side of things it has to be Anders Limpar who was an absolute star but my nomination for A Grimster (13" high statuette with curly black hair  ) goes to..........................Nelson Vivas :D
