Roma played Chelsea in the group stage,in the first game at the Bridge Chelsea won easily but in the return it was a different story Roma mullered them
Roma are a poor team away from home but in Rome they are much better. Its going to take another Milan type performance to get us through.Oh those missed chances

When Song came on, I had the same feeling that I had when Flamini came on in the Champions League Final.

That it was a defensive substitution at too early a stage in the game, at only 1-0 up, and momentum would be lost.

We needed to press on and get a second goal, rather than try to hold onto a 1-0 lead against a decent side.

Friend I sat next to said the same thing.

How good was Eboue today?

I wish all the other players had the energy and spirit he showed today.
He really is on a mission to prove himself. When he improves his final ball he might actually be a decent player...

Song wasn't that bad, he looked pretty solid to me.

Almunia was very good, came out on crosses, hesitated once but no real worries. He has been really solid recently.

Clichy looked good, sagna looks abit tired to me,

Is it me or does Diaby has a lot of potential? He is a clever player, has a good shot and dribble, if only he could stay fit...

Van Persie played ok, Nasri played well and so did Denilson.

Bentner should just fuck off, he better get some confidence soon, how he didnt put us 2 nil up I'll never know.

did eboue play well?? or was it that roma were just shite?? me thinks the later. no doubt he can run hard, but so could forest gump. his final ball is a joke. his 1 and only asset, is that he can run all day, but if u can do fcuk all with the ball, whats the point. as for his miss :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: , he came inside, when if he had a left foot, he could have dragged the ball the other way and he was clean through, he,d probably still a missed that also. no way that *word censored* can start the 2nd leg.

i thought tonight was a real improvement.

It want great and we should have won by more, but that is good, in recent games we have been lucky not to lose.

We played well. Not great, but well. Roma were poor. Let's just be honest with ourselves. We failed to take advantage of the chances we got and we may live to regret that in Rome because believe me it will be a different Roma performance in the 2nd leg.

Eboue was the best I've ever seen him. But that's not saying much because he's been shit forever. But at least he ran at them and tried to do something. The fact that he simply cannot shoot or release a half decent ball is everything though.

Song nearly killed our game when he came on. We just stopped attacking and sat back. We were lucky not to concede tbh. Song offers NOTHING. He cannot pass, shoot, tackle or even fucking keep up with play.

Gallas played really well, he handled those tricky cheating diving Italians really well. This is where experience really comes into its own.

Diaby frustrates me. He made some great surging runs through the middle but nothing came of any of them. No end product. Like Eboue, he doesn't know when to release the ball.

Finally Bendtner. If anyone on here ever states that this useless idiot has a first touch I would recommend they get their arse down to Specsavers pronto.

Maybe you meant they got pissed

Roma were poor but injuries played their part in that. An away goal in Roma combined with half decent defending would probably be enough but I seriously worry we will pay for this. Strong at the back, dominate midfield for 65 minutes but we didn't take our chances and we probably should have created more then we did.

I agree Magic

We just didnt have an impact sub to bring on after 65 mins like Walcott v Milan and Liverpool last season .Man Utd had Tevez and Rooney on the bench. All we had was Vela.It was a big mistake bringing on Song.A defensive move by Wenger.I think we will see a different Roma in the second leg

finally got a prediction right :barscarf: :D good result and Im sure we will be shockingly bad against fulham.
Why is diaby so good in the champions league? When it comes to the prem he does fuck all most of the time.
Well done eboue, he is turning into the new hleb (but obviously not as good), good dribbler and good at running with the ball but no end product.
Bendtner was his usual shitself, I confused as to why vela doesnt deserve a place in the first team more than Bendtner does
Atmosphere was actually good for bits, too many anti spurs songs though, its ok when we are winning like 5-0 but we should stick to arsenal songs and player songs. AND WHY THE FUCK WERE PPL SING ASHLEY COLE SONGS :banghead: great to hear people chanting but WHY!!!!

I was saying last night, Eboue can go fast when he's got the ball at his feet, but only in a straight line. When he's got an opponent in front of him he can't beat the man so he falls over and loses the ball. Pires wasn't as fast but he could beat players with skill so maybe Eboue should slow down a bit and realise that going as fast as possible doesn't always get the best result. TH14 could do it, so can Ronaldo but Eboue isn't quite as good as them!

Denilson looked good last night. I think he gets a bit of unfair criticism because he is another Gilberto in that what he does might not necessarily win games but he stops us losing them.

And Almunia. I don't think a new goalkeeper is a priority although many on here would probably disagree with me but I think he's having a good season and we don't need to replace him yet.
