the seville full back died last nite,, find it so sad when a player dies so young,, and then clarke at the lcfc v nffc carling cup match last nite,, just shows at the end of the day football is still secondery

yeh something like that certianly puts life into perspective. I remember it happening to foe quite a few years back and i think it happened to one or two in portugal - a real shame. The thing is you look at sevilla, and especially puerto who i believe is 22 (2 years younger than me) and consider how much football he/they played over the last two seasons, reaching two uefa cup finals, playing in various super cups in europe and in spain - im not big on spanish football but he may have possibly gone to the world cup in germany too.
To cut a long story short, as much as i love watching football, is too much football bein played, especially if younger players are collapsing, and complaining of over-exhaustion? Not a very good example, but david bentley may be smarter than people imagine (im not suggesting he was in a life-threatening situation) when he decided not to compete in the under-21 championships in the summer.
I amy be overreating but I personally feel players need longer breaks and a rethink of competitions, the strive for royalties by clubs and chairmen could put players at risk.

yeah makes you relise how life can change just like that. Thought liverpool playing Evertons Z cars tune before the game in respect of Ryhs Jones was good.

Yeah its really sad. Must have been scary for Leicester City fans and players yesterday when their player collapsed yesterday. Personally i think the Nottingham Forest fans were a disgrace espicially after the Seville incident.

They were booing etc even after the annoucer had said why there was a delay

Didn't think Forest fans would do that sort of thing, wouldn't of been as suprised if i heard it was Millwall or Chelsea

how could you even concider booing after whats happend this week

Later in Shankly's life he said that he regretted saying what he said.

i know,, wit the forrest fans they didnt know why the match was slow startin back up, when the managers made came out 2 say wat was happenin then they applaued like the city fans

In my experience, Forest fans are disgusting. Whenever they play Man Utd, the do the whole arms out like an aeroplane thing, mocking the Munich air crash.

Here we are worrying whether or not we're going to sign a striker or a left winger and things like this are happening in the world. Watching the scenes in Seville and reading about it is heartbreaking. A very sobering time, indeed.

What seemed saddest to me about the Man U accident (I wasn't alive at the time i was told later), was actually the fact that someone had noted:

M - Manchester
U - United
N - Never
I- Intended
C - Coming
H - Home

I was only really young when I heard about it, so the whole idea of the 'pre-emptiveness' freaked me out....
