Arsenal and Bolton have been put on red alert after Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso revealed he will leave Portugal at the end of the season. (Daily Mail)
I do wonder if there's any shred of truth in this, or just more lazy journalism... I think the latter.
You know what they say… "if it walks like a duck, and it sounds like a duck…
…it’s probably on the end of Wayno’s c*ck!"

News of the World say:
SCOTTISH champions Celtic have joined Arsenal in the race for France goalkeeper Johan Pele.
The 26-year-old, currently third choice for his country, is running down his contract at Le Mans.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger remains in pole position for his signature but Hoops manager Gordon Strachan is also keen.
Promotion hopefuls Birmingham have also enquired about Pele, who can leave Le Mans for nothing at the end of the season.

Arsenal will test Newcastle's resolve to hang on to star defender Sebastien Bassong with a £10million summer offer.
The Magpies want to extend the France Under-21 star's existing contract beyond its 2011 expiry date, but fear relegation could cost them their prize asset.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been tracking Bassong's impressive progress since his cut-price summer move from Metz, which Toon chairman Derek Llambias claims cost Newcastle just £500,000.

another veloso story today
[quote]Veloso unhappy with Sporting
Miguel Veloso has again said he would like to leave Sporting after the club failed to defend him against a ‘campaign’ from a local newspaper.
The Record newspaper has published a series of stories about the 22-year-old defensive midfielder following his admissions that he would be keen to move to England.
Sporting boss Paulo Bento also claimed that Veloso 'needed help' and the player, who came close to a move to Bolton in January, believes the club has not done enough to protect him.
“There has been a campaign from a newspaper – Record – that does not stop talking about Miguel Veloso,â€

Arsene Wenger has been warned today that he faces a battle in his pursuit to land Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta.
The Swiss international has been in sensational form in the Bundesliga this season and is attracting widespread interest and according to reports in Express, Arsenal is leading the chase for his signature.
Wenger of course is no stranger to Swiss talent and sees Barnetta as a possible long term replacement for Mathieu Flamini to add some steel to the Gunners midfield; however Leverkusen are determined to thwart Arsenal and other attempts to prize away their £10m rated midfielder by attempting to extend his current deal.
"There are enquiries for Tranquillo all the time and we have been talking about this with him," Leverkusen sporting manager Michael Reschke told Express
"We are always in touch with Tranquillo and are attempting to extend his deal."

Arsenal Football Club are preparing a summer bid for Yoann Gourcuff.
Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of his compatriot Frenchman, who has in the past been dubbed as the new Zinedine Zidane.
Indeed, the Gunners boss wanted to sign the 22-year-old in the summer of 2006, but he missed out when the midfielder left Rennes for AC Milan.
Gourcuff is currently back in France on loan at Bordeaux, where he has rediscovered his best form sufficiently enough to catch the attention of Wenger once more.
It is believed the Emirates Stadium club are preparing an end-of-season offer of £10million for the Les Blues star, who has six caps for his country.

Lille midfielder Yohan Cabaye has admitted he was flattered to hear that he had been linked with a move to Arsenal.
The highly-rated 23-year-old, who played for France at Under 21 level, has earned rave reviews for his performances in Ligue 1 this season.
He has helped Lille to mount a challenge for European qualification but it appears his displays have not gone unnoticed.
Speculation suggests Arsene Wenger is considering a summer swoop and Cabaye concedes he would find it impossible to resist an offer from the Gunners.
However, there has been no approach as yet and Cabaye insists he is focused solely on trying to do well for Lille.
"I will try to finish the season well with the objective of a European qualification. Then I will take stock," he told Aujourd'hui Sport.
"Arsenal's interest? It is very flattering, but I am under contract and I don't know of any contact.
"Once again I am completely focused on the pitch.
"Would I be attracted? Of course, no one could refuse that. Anyway, I don't think about it."
