ITV 4! IS TONY ADAMS BACK ON THE SAUCE?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

There was one great moment though when they showed the half time advert for the towel flicker's (what we call rugger buggers in Ireland) world cup. (The poxy advert called it the "Greatest Team game in the world" :!:

When Rosenthal said to him, "You'll be watching that, won't you Tony?", TA6 just looked blankly at him and smiled as if to say "Are you nuts? It's a boring shite game played by closet homosexualists." 8) :P

You the man, Tone. 8)
So were you any good DB10? Did you play in the pack or are you more of a hooker?
No emoticons, Galasso? So I can only take it that you are serious when you accuse me of being an ex-towel flicker, an ex-rugger bugger; to clarify - an ex batty boy.

Now, old man, you should be aware just how perilous it is to bandy such accusations about. My second will contact your second forthwith to establish a time and place whereupon I will administer the severest of thrashings, sir.
DB10

Those emoticons disturb me so I try not to go near them, but, just for you  :D

"Bugger", "thrashings" - Your honour - the case for the prosecution rests.

And your second sounds well trained - has he been with you long??

I have a good mate that's an alcoholic and he goes off the beer for weeks (sometimes months) on end and then he'll get f*cked up solidly day in day out for a year maybe. When he has been off it and has just started back on one, he looks, talks and has the same body language as TA6 last night.

Tone is back on it, I reckon. Which would be truely f*cking sad. A real pitty. :(

I just hope Tone can get a grip on it before it gets too bad again.

yeah I saw that too, he just wasn't even prepared to comment...
I swear there was a point where Jim Rosenthal was spouting some rubbish or other, looks to Tone and TA6 goes "yeah thats right Neil"...NEIL??!! Amazing....
I just loved his "I dont really need to be here but I was that good" posture in the chair..

What a Legend..Still not convinced he was on the piss but definitely some TV gold from ITV14 or whatever I was watching last night..

If he is back on the wagon, and it has that effect on him, I doubt he can hold down a coaching job at pompey ...

This may be a one off sloshing for combatting stage fright .. :D :D :P :P

we'll put it down to nerves before the Arsenal game, but I think we all know Tone could very well be back on 1st name terms with Jonnie Walker

He was definitely out of it. He looked like he'd just come off the set from One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. He was sitting there like he was waiting for his next fix. What with the shirt and his hair looking like he just woken up and got out of bed and his ramblings, the guy's not well, have to see if he turns up on Sunday with Portsmouth.

I'm sure he'll get a good shout from everyone and hope he's in better form..
All jokes aside, if he is struggling again he needs to sort himself out, there's only so much well-wishing we can do....surely if he was on the drink he wouldn't be able to be Assistant at Pompey, its so strict now and the fitness levels of playing and coaching staff are higher than ever..

Doesn't 'being on the wagon' mean you have stopped drinking, not started it? :?

Yes it does ECD, the term "fallen off the wagon" is generally used for when someone goes back on the pop!
The phrase was apparently coined in the States well over 100yrs ago when water trucks used to spray the streets to keep them clean and to keep the dust down and so anyone who had stopped drinkin alcohol was said to be on the water wagon, later shortened to just "on the wagon"!
