As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sorry 1) I'd had a few beers 2) I was sort of concentrating on the tennis
Had been down the sports club social night and they did have the sky sports news on with the transfers on but no mention of Arsenal at all at that point.
Gilberto will be gone in the summer I suspect, an excellent add to the team, versatile, skilful and someone who can play the holding midfielder. Well done Arsene

Yeah, Diarra is a class acquisition ... he has impressed me geatly even on his less preferred right back position ... The surprise for me was that the chavs agreed to sell him ...
Agree that this could prove to be another masterstroke bargain.
Does it make up for a summer of more talent leaving the revolving door than coming in?
Have we been played by the master mind-gamer that is AW?
Telling us we will not sign anyone, so we are so pleased at getting an unexpected potential worldclass player that we forget the following:
1. We have a plethora of quality in the middle of the park (Cesc, Bert, Diaby, Denilson, TR) and some well meaning lesser quality (Flamini, Song).
2. We need a CB
3. We need a striker
4. We need a left sided midfielder.
Are we so starved we think these crumbs from the rich man's table is a banquet, made all the tastier because it has a sprinkling of Chav angst?
I know we couldn't dismiss this bargain when it became clear his contract was expiring and he wanted to be at AG. Unless, however, the lad is so versatile that he can play up front, wide left and at the centre of the defence, then this isn't the signing we desperately needed, just one we couldn't afford to pass up on.
