Djourou had his worst game for us all season.

Starting to wonder how he fits in?

Summer will tell, as likely one of Gallas or Toure will leave.

Then it will be time for Djourou to stake a claim for a regular place.
Without regular football he will surely move on.

Will Nordveit be good enough?

Playing well in Norway, but with Silvestre injured (until last night) might have though Nordveit would be needed in first team squad as cover.

He was not, so seems he is not ready.

What is more noticeable is everyone forgetting the fucking awful performance put in by fans favourite Vela!

He was nothing short of total dogshit. The guy is so far away from being a first team regular it is untrue.

Still, his face fits so he can get away with anything. Maybe if Song had some better YouTube clips of him juggling a ball in Spain or something we would all cut him the same slack?

Oh I forgot to mention Wenger's progamme notes in which he said 'Song isnt as slow as people think. In fact, he's one of the fastest in the sqaud, in the top 5'.

(He also went on for about two paragraphs how Eboue shouldnt have taken the penalty against Blackburn which I thought was little odd.)

I agree Augie he played badly but I think this is Senderos all over again - Gallas and Toure if fit seem to play as first choice however bad they are playing then when injured or for cup games Djourou comes in having not played much (he is usually on the bench so does not play many reserve games either) and struggles well not shit he has not played much.

I wondered early in the game last night if djouru is too nervous playing alongside gallas ? In the games he has played alongside kolo lately I thought he had done well but kolo is more of an encourager whereas gallas is more of a bollocker and maybe djouru is aware of that before the game and makes him jittery - maybe this is bullshit but I cant help thinking of the bollocking gallas gave djouru in 1st game of season v baggies

Vela was hardly in the game, but it is a game of partnerships.

He just did not look comfortable alongside RvP.

Diaby and Song did not look a decent partnership either, they have played together infrequently though so it might improve.

Vela needs to follow Theo's lead and bulk up, looked very lightweight. But I guess this will come as he develops.

I agree vela did not play well last night but what I will stake my life on is that in the 1st half it was him that was showing for the ball and trying to create while rvp was on a personal war v mike the wanker riley

I thought that in patches vela linked up well in the 1st half with arshavin but I do agree that overall he wasnt great. I cannot find the hull thread on this pitch so dont know if anybody else has said that but I thought rvp was very very poor again last night until he scored

All of a sudden he is in the limelight and is flying for the last 10-15mins but where was he before that ?

I thought RVP improved in the second half even before his goal but was still poor throughout. He did definitely seem way too concerned with Rileyc*nt instead of getting on with the game & he made some terrible runs.

I wouldnâ€™t go as far as to explain away Velaâ€™s performance as being all (or even mostly) to do with playing up front with RVP though - even though Iâ€™ve never thought they would make a good partnership. Vela made basic mistakes & poor decisions all on his own too often. He had the perfect opportunity to play Walcott in during the first half for e.g. but instead held on to the ball & ran into trouble when Theo would otherwise have been clean through.

All part of learning the game I guess but it did show heâ€™s not ready to compete for a regular first team slot yet in my opinion.

Song deserves no credit. Why the fcuk is he moving foward so much in the attack? That is definitely not his role in the squad!!!!I hate even looking at the *word censored* on our pitch. He might be good enough to be a groundsman, but in NO way should he play in our squad and is not improving.

Is Gusher former known as Calo? I imagine the reason Song moved forward is we were 1-0 down and Hull had given up trying to attack after the 30th minute.

I agree with augie, Vela was trying hard but to be fair, it isn't like he had many options when on the ball. Van Persie was surprisingly good in the air, had effort off the line, hit the bar but outside of that, poor till goal.

Wenger must of word with RVP. He was poor in the first half.
(I actually was typing piss poor)
It looked as if RVP really wanted it and was looking for the ball everwhere. On several occasions he picked up the ball around the centre circle no not on a break but joining in the sideways passing. Taking the ball from the back one of Song or Diaby to go forward.
Fine but this leave Vela upfront on his on.

Second half RVP stayed upfront more.

However it has made me think what is his best partnership?
He in my opinion is a second striker behind a front man. The only one is Eddie!
Bendtner and Adebayor are target men and are the only ones which can play on there own.
There partners can be anyone including pacy strikers such as Theo and Vela.
