SHOULD THE FA CUP SEMI-FINAL DATES BE SWAPPED?
Pressure grows on FA to switch dates of Cup semi-finals

There is a growing pressure on the FA from fans lobby groups and MPs to switch the semi final games, or even move the Everton vs Manchester United game to Villa Park.
There are a lot of discussion points, including the idea of semis at Wembley, and the role of TV companies in scheduling untraditional kick off times.
Main points of the article are:
1) The Sunday afternoon fixture means Everton and Man Utd fans will not arrive back in the North West until late Sunday night.
This could lead to abscences from work and school the next day.
2) A London game for a semi-final is a large expense for fans of two North West teams in time of recession.
What I wonder is, would you want the games to be switched, so that we would play on Sunday afternoon?
What are your reasons for wanting, or not wanting a switch?

It makes sense! Won't happen though - Wembley will generate ~£4million for that game - not sure what % goes to the clubs but Wembley will not let it be moved - they need the money.barnfield88 wrote:I had this conversation with someone last week, I think the man utd everton game should be moved to Villa park, it makes sense and will help them out a bit as it isnt too far to travel.

The other is that the Champions League quarter final is in the week before the semi, and if we are away for that game, it might see a tired team arrive back in England in the early hours of Thursday morning, then have to play the semi final on the Saturday.
