Re: Welcome back Bobby Pires
It'll be great to welcome Bobby back. Just hope that he doesn't get injured beforehand which would be typical of our luck...Deanjames2 wrote:I for one am glad of the chance to cheer Super Rob as he never got the propper send off he deserved. He had a bit of a battle winning the fans over with his lethargic style at first but in the end one of my most bitter memories of a dark night in paris was seeing his number come up and watching him walk off the pitch prematurely, not the way we had all hoped he would sign out.
p.s not questioning the decision, was just a shame thats all!
Let's face it, he should still be plying his trade with us.

As I said above.Basil is a Gooner wrote:Chippy - I didnt read the whole thread but I have now read your post - and you were spot on!
I take anything the sun says with a pinch of salt anyway, I'm pleased to see him back, and who wouldnt say they wanted the team they play for to win?
Now watch this be totally distorted by the press tomorrow morning.
Good article in today's Observer
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009 ... ons-leagueThe return offers the chance of closure for 2006, with Pires on the other side. It is also a chance for the Frenchman to overcome his own trauma from that campaign, Arsène Wenger's decision to replace him in the final following Jens Lehman's red card – a decision he says "killed" him.
