Arsenal v Chelsea FA Cup Minutes Applause

First off congratulations on getting to the semi's and please beat Chelsea. Prior to the kick-off of the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley between Arsenal and Chelsea, there is to be a 'minutes applause' in commemoration of the victims of Hillsborough. I'm really not sure if this was a wise move by the FA. The respect shown by the Arsenal players at Anfield that May was fantastic, but I wonder if the Arsenal fan of today, and in particular the Chelsea fan, will be capable of behaving in a dignified manner?
Please Gooners be respectful and good luck in the FA Cup.

I dislike a minutes applause. I find that they are the poor relation of the minutes silence.

The applause gives the impression that people can't be bothered to be quiet. Silence is far more respectful in my opinion.

Bojde, you have come on here a couple of times asking for respect for Victim FC and then shown true colours.

Hillsborough was a tragedy and we will applaud those 96 victims out of respect for them and their families. We're not mugs though and we can see the role played in that tragedy by your own fans even if you guys avoid responsibility like the plague.

Oh and Wayno mate, come down to Annie Road and say that and see what happens. If you can say one thing on a forum then you should be able to say it on the street.

What's even worse is that the moderators don't even seem to want to keep you lot in line. This thread was made to ask the ones that are going to Wembley to have respect yet you lot hijack it and turn it into a debate about why the disaster occured. Show a bit of class ffs.

Makes you wonder doesn't it..............how much respect the Liverpool showed the dead and injured from Munich.

For years they constantly sang there Munich song and as soon as Hillsborough happened they were as quiet as a mouse.

Honestly, who do you think you are, comign on here and mouthinG off about us? No other club in the country has given Hillsbrough more respect over the years than us. We refused to play any games until the period of repsect and morning had been observed, carried flowers on to the pitch that night and nearly every account of the night has made a reference to the poor souls who died in April 89.

If you really are serious about this, then I suggest you take yourself off to a Chavsea website as their have more history with your mob than us.

As for behaving in a dignified manner? Tell me of any instance over the years when Arsenal fans have ever 'dissed' a minute's silence? Don't come on our forum and cast judgements about the way our fans may behave when you have had so much respect from AFC in the past.

Bodje, when I have been to Anfield road, I haven't shyed away from you lot, sure I have worried about where I park my car but thats about it.

96 lost their lives and were crushed to death by scousers, is that not the truth or have you changed it? I feel sorry for those families that lost loved ones but not for the majority of the scousers who caused the situation in the first place.

Yes you say read the report, I say read the Sun, neither tell it like it was but the one that cost 30p is a lot more closer to the mark than the one that wasted millions of taxpayers money, but what the fuck would a scouser know about paying tax.

Reading may be difficult unless it is on a benefit claim form I guess
