Of Phil Brown and Arsenal’s semi-final ticketing policy

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

In reply to Herd. Away Scheme members can't just return their tickets. This can only be done if the fixture is re-arranged. The point of being on the away scheme is to take a ticket for every away match with out having to apply for every match on an individual basis. Therefore I think that someone that goes to every match Home and Away should get some preference over Red and Silver members for big games.

Disagree with this article and i am shocked how silvers and reds feel some tickets should be put aside for them. After an awful attendance vs hull where the silvers and reds then? I am a ST holder who went and was surprised to see such little interest from existing ST holders but assumed the tickets would be snapped up by the silvers and reds.

The only thing Arsenal could have done was when they knew we had Cardiff home followed by another home draw was any member who showed interest in applying for tickets would have a chance for semi final ticket!!

[/quote]The fairest way would be to merge home and away games into one credit system for home games and then work out who gets a ticket like the away games are currently.

As a Season Ticket holder who has just received confirmation of a ticket for Wembley I've a fair degree of sympathy with this compromise view. It would weed out those people who pick and choose and are responsible for all those empty seats by failing to use the ticket exchange.

What a load of bollox. Season ticket holders have every right to go to wembley but thats only if the attend EVERY SINGLE GAME. A massive chunk of the empty seats about the place are also season ticket holders who for whatever reason do not attend and do not sell their ticket on the exchange, giving those that would like to attend the opportunity to.

I am a red member, who thanks to a couple of trohy less seasons has been able to purchase tickets for EVERY SINGLE HOME GAME in all competitions. I have purchased 6 away games this season including CL in Roma and i have absolutely no opportunity to go the wembley game. Its a fucking disgrace.

I'm agreeing with you 12th - just got the quotes upside down. I think the club should add up the ATTENDED home plus away and allocate on that basis, which would address your point. Many away supporters admit they prefer away games as they don't like the E atmosphere - but they gain an unfair advantage when it comes to Wembley tickets, which seems unfair.

SF tickets

Post by Shellshock »

Whatever way you do it, somebody will moan.

I'm a ST holder but it seems to me that the fact that I cough up £1,200 up front is pretty meaningless because I don't have to attend any games at all to get a near-on guarantee of a SF ticket. ST holders are now attending some games for which they have to pay and that sorts the wheat from the chaff.

It should be based on actual attendance but how can you possibly tell who uses a ticket unless you have an ID check at the gate ?

It's the price of fame unfortunately. I remember I got two tickets for the 79 final, 1 as a ST holder and the other by collecting programmes and cutting out the vouchers. Those were the days !

Best

Funny how as a silver member I was able to get tickets to go to all of the previous semi finals at Old Trafford and go to the Cup finals at Cardiff now all of a sudden when we have games on the door step at Wembley I cant get a ticket.

And some of you are saying that silver members are selective!!! Seems the other way round to me......
