FA GRANT HULL MORE TIME

The Football Association have given Hull City another five days to present their case against Cesc Fabregas after accusing the Arsenal captain of spitting at the feet of their assistant manager Brian Horton.

Quite incredibly, it is reported that the extension has been granted because Horton is currently out of the country. Despite already giving Hull a full week to supply their version of events, the FA have now chosen to let the matter drag on for another five days before they are even in a position to consider whether Fabregas, who has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, has a case to answer.

The governing body wrote to Hull last Tuesday for their observations on the matter after Phil Brown went public with his claim that the Arsenal club captain spat at the feet of Horton following the Gunners' FA Cup victory on Monday night.

According to The Guardian, 'The deadline was this morning, but with Horton abroad and seemingly incommunicado, KC Stadium officials asked Soho Square for more time.'

The decision to grant Hull's request - with the deadline now set at March 30 - has been met with considerable incredulity.

As the newspaper itself remarks, 'While Hull's stance suggests they are still determined to pursue the matter and perhaps also indicated they may be playing for time to gather additional evidence or procure a fresh witness, the whole issue seems bizarre.

'It is understood that Horton has only recently left the country and was around all last week - when the club's chairman, Paul Duffen, opened a special dossier on events in north London - to supply his version of events. In any case it would be extraordinary if Hull's assistant manager was not in phone or email contact.'

As yet, no eye-witnesses to the alleged incident have yet come forward, with Fabregas clear in his denial that he did not spit in anyone's direction after the tie.

I think we all knew this was going nowhere just as soon as the liar could not get his story straight. Was it on the pitch, in the tunnel etc.?

I suspect that Hull have their own concerns about this. If they push it and the truth comes out that it is a false allegation then Brown is in deep shite. Not only could Cesc and Arsenal take action against him and his club, he is on a warning from the FA re. his conduct. I think they'll let it drop as they stand to lose more than us from it.

This is utter utter bullshit and is indicitive of how those *word censored* at the fa work

A fat granny shagger openly abuses a referee, the incident receives massive coverage in a season where the respect to referee's campaign is high profile and yet the *word censored* gets away without any further charges ?? And yet here we have a case where a young spaniard (as opposed to being an engerland "hero"

) is alledged to have spat at a member of the oppositions coaching team and even though the opposition club havent filed any evidence in the given time the fa have still allowed them more time to file charges

There is a saying in the legal world that "justice delayed is justice denied" and I fully believe that cesc should consider suing for defamation of character when this ridiculous bullshit eventually runs its course

I agree with the double standards of the FA Augie its disgraceful and also Hull know that Brown and Horton were full of shit that night but have been backed into a corner about it all. Just watch 5 days time there will still be nothing from Hull and the matter will be nicely swept under the FA carpet

we the club that change the face of English football and it seems the hierarchy didn't like it ,or the media,as it was done by a johnny foreigner and also he had the audacity to turn down the England job!!!.
this is one of the reasons we not liked by the powers to be and this is why we get shafted all the time.the fa is two-faced and now there don't bother to hide it,as shown with rooney punishment,so i won't hold out for any justice for us from the fa.
if hull don't continue with complaint then ARSENAL and cesc should take them to the cleaners as there slag our great club off and discredited cesc.

It has been alleged Arsenal captain Fabregas spat at Horton in the aftermath of the Tigers' FA Cup defeat at Emirates Stadium earlier in the month.

Hull boss Brown was incensed at the final whistle and was quick to condemn the behaviour of Fabregas, who missed the cup tie through injury but entered the pitch at the end of the game.

The FA was hoping to have gathered evidence by now but have decided to extend their inquiry, as a number of the players they would have liked to have spoken to are away on international duty.

"It's settled down as they do with time but there is an ongoing inquiry," Brown told Sky Sports News.

"There was a deadline I think for today of which the chairman has got an extension because of the international break and the amount of international players we have away.

"There's an awful lot of players involved, or down the tunnel, when whatever went on.
