Villarreal Away £72 tickets!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Good letter that.

I've been boycotting food and drink in the "new Highbury" ever since we moved there. A 5.50 meal deal for a hot dog and a drink or whatever it is? 3.50 or whatever for a /bottle/ of lager? It's a complete and utter piss-take and I don't understand why more people don't buy their food and drink outside.

I don't want to moan, but with the new badge, the club song that has nothing to do with the club etc, Arsenal is getting further away from the true fans every year. Such a tradition, going down the pan, but if the team has a few bad years, the club will come unstuck as the new and tourist fans will drift away. Anyway, onwards and upwards.

er... i think roly was referring to villarreal as the stadium to make your protest - as in - they charge us that much so they are not getting a cent more. but i agree, arsenal have been extracting the urine for years, so it's a good policy not to spend money at home matches too.

Run along now you mug. It's people like you that have caused the club to charge stupid prices.

PM me if you want me to get a ticket for you using my memberships - I should be able to get up to 4 tickets. Goes without saying that the offer is face value plus any booking fees.

I have gladly done the last 2 trips with the club ( Porto and Roma) which by today's standards seemed pretty steep to those who travelled independently. The Villarreal trip though i will swerve probably due to the ticket price that is being passed on by Arsenal.£72 sheets is an alarming figure when you consider from now on if we accept it they can deliver more such figures as this. Arsenal must make money on tickets as i have found out before in places such as Prague,Madrid etc. Prague the price we paid for the ticket was what they pay for their season including champions league vouchers at that time!!!

Isn't this the kind of thing the RED Action should be more active sorting or is it just me??

To be fair, I think AISA, rather than RedAction, will be looking into this.

http://www.aisa.org/

In fact, they are...

"AISA has raised the matter with the national Football Supporters' Federation, who have pledged to investigate, and have already contacted UEFA."

The box office are a waste of time!
I always notice at away games the travel club reps always give themselfs the best seats, really anoys me because they don't even pay for the tickets, they should have the worse bloody seats or even have no seats at all and sit on the coaches!!!!!

First post here.
I noticed the club has negotiated and managed to get a whole £5 off the ticket. great. I suppose, at least they made an effort. eventually.

It did get a mention on Sky Sports yesterday morning.....they did a piece on how much their own fans were paying, and how much it was for home and away fans for the 2nd leg at the Grove.....and how that compared with United/Porto and Barca/Bayern.....

Interesting, but so much to take in that I was no wiser once they'd finished  !!

They're not selling well though so we probably won't take up the extra 1000 tickets, which is a shame.
they've moved the away section, thats isn't it
