British Football Rivalry

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Radford thinks that our own derby with the **** is up there for sheer hatred. those that have been to the swamp/shithole/toilet etc can testify to this

From what you read it has to be Swansea/Cardiff, although Celtic/Rangers would probably match it if it wasn't so well policed.

i guess millwall and west ham also see's some blood shed.

looking at a cardiff's mate's pic's, i wouldnt wanna be on the wrong end of a fight with either  they literally want to kill! :)

oh, and you know that bollocks they did with tapping their heads everytime we sung sheep shaggers to them, my cardiff mate gave me this explanation:

"Haha a lot of people ask that, it's called the Ayatollah. It's something we've had for ages from when we were in League Two and proper, nearly as bad as Tottenham, shit. The Iranian leader died, who's called the Ayatollah and at his funeral all his followers were hitting their heads with their hands to show grief, so as a joke one of our fans who saw it on tv started doing it at a match when we were about 5 - 0 down to Maccessfield or someone like that and it just took off." 8)

Arsenal - Spurs
Celtic - Rangers
Wham - Millwall

For history and everything else ( ). These would be my top 3.

Some lesser ones.

Cardiff - Swansea
Linfield - Glentoran

I'd say the Glagow derby. They probably have the biggest fan base in Britain and there's so much more to it than football, unfortunately.

The north east derby betweenthe barcodes & mackems is an underrated one.

Spurs hatred towards us is ridiculously big but since we really don't take them half as seriously as they do with us I don't think it can compete with some of the other derbies.
