National Flag Ban

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Radford can't quite understand Foxy's anger. He wants to say "sorry"

Radford also respects Foxy's opinion and hopes he has not hurt his head to badly

The problem was this cypriot thing and frankly I think the club didn't have much choice. We have a whole bunch of Turkish and Greek Cypriots as fans (just walk up seven sisters) and a few years ago they were likely to kill each other. It was never about st george (ironically he was turkish) or being english.

sorry Radford disagrees the club bottled it. it could have done one of two things.

1. told both parties to fuck off

2. told both parties to fuck off

the club chose to make an issue of it

the reason i voted against international flags is because where we live it is usually to do with sectarianism and marking territory, it can cause conflict with some people thats why i wouldnt be keen on it as thats not what you want we are all there for the arsenal!

In fact, I think the ban was good as England flags could be used to provoke at The Emirates more than anything else and it's things like that making the flag into something ugly instead of something that the English nation should be proud about.
If you aint on drugs then you should be
If some Gooners feel the need to wave an England flag inside the stadium that badly I guess I'm wrong then. However, my personal view is that if the flag is / could be used to provoke then the ban is the right thing to do since Jakes view is that people using national flags, or their nationality in general, to provoke are idiots...as Radford would have put it.

oh come on can't you handle a bit of stick?
I don't have a problem with handling sticks( :? ) at all but again....my personal view is that somebody giving anyobody else stick for not being English is a bit of a wasteman....

I can't understand why anyone would want to bring a non Arsenal flag into the ground. I have no love of the England team or any other bloody country for that matter so for me it's Arsenal flags or none at all. Why the fuck anyone would bring a Turkish/Cypriot flag is lost on me as it has fuck all to do with our club.
